Meet Christina Specos of Specos Enterprises, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Specos

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey in fitness and coaching began with a deep passion for movement and performance. Growing up, I was always involved in sports, and that evolved into a fascination with strength and conditioning. I pursued my education in the field, ultimately earning my master’s degree and working as a college strength coach at Purdue University for seven years. During that time, I had the honor of training elite athletes and truly understanding the synergy between mental resilience and physical strength.

After leaving the collegiate environment, I transitioned into professional bodybuilding, which opened up an entirely new chapter of my career. Earning my IFBB Pro card in 2019 was a pinnacle moment that cemented my expertise in both training and nutrition. But more than that, it shifted my focus to a more holistic approach to health, integrating mindset, discipline, and tailored fitness strategies for my clients.

Today, I run Specos Enterprises, a business that provides bespoke coaching for entrepreneurs, athletes, and high-performing women who are looking to elevate their physical, mental, and emotional fitness. Through 25 years of experience, I’ve built a philosophy around longevity, resilience, and excellence—not just in training, but in life. And that’s where I find my deepest fulfillment, empowering others to live in alignment with their highest potential.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, and honestly, I wouldn’t want it to be. The challenges I’ve faced are what shaped me into the coach and athlete I am today. Early on, balancing the demands of being a strength coach at a major university while pursuing my own fitness goals was intense. The long hours, the pressure to deliver results, and trying to maintain my own physical and mental well-being taught me a lot about discipline and resilience.

Transitioning from a structured environment like collegiate athletics to entrepreneurship was another major hurdle. There’s a lot of uncertainty in building your own brand and business, especially in an industry as saturated as fitness. I had to learn how to market myself authentically while staying grounded in my core values—creating custom, science-backed training and nutrition programs that deliver real results.

On the personal side, I’ve had my share of setbacks. Competing at the pro level requires an immense amount of physical and mental sacrifice, and there were times when I doubted if I could continue. But those moments of doubt are where I found my strength. Whether it was facing injury, managing the emotional and physical toll of competition, or navigating the ups and downs of building a business from scratch, every struggle has been a lesson in resilience.

The road may not have been smooth, but it’s been worth it. Each challenge sharpened my mindset, and now I use those experiences to help my clients overcome their own obstacles—whether they’re facing physical limits or mental roadblocks.

As you know, we’re big fans of Specos Enterprises, LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
At Specos Enterprises, we don’t just provide fitness coaching—we transform lives by empowering high-achievers to unlock their full physical, mental, and emotional potential. What sets us apart is our deep focus on customization. Every client is unique, and we treat them that way. We offer bespoke training, nutrition plans, and mindset coaching that are meticulously tailored to each individual’s lifestyle, goals, and challenges.

My expertise spans more than two decades, but what truly defines Specos Enterprises is the philosophy that fitness isn’t just about aesthetics or performance—it’s about longevity and sustainable growth. We believe in blending science with heart, helping clients thrive in all areas of their lives, not just the gym. Whether it’s a busy entrepreneur looking to maximize energy and productivity or a competitive athlete pushing toward the next level, our programs are designed to foster excellence both physically and mentally.

What I’m most proud of brand-wise is the impact we’ve made on people’s lives. We’re not offering cookie-cutter solutions or trendy short-term fixes. Clients who come to us know they’re investing in a lifestyle that will elevate them for years to come. The transformations we deliver go beyond the surface—they build confidence, resilience, and a deeper understanding of how to truly care for oneself.

Our services range from one-on-one elite coaching to online courses, mentorship programs, and downloadable guides, ensuring that there’s a solution for anyone ready to commit to change. But it’s the level of care and attention we provide that really makes us different. It’s more than just a program—it’s a partnership where we guide you every step of the way.

For readers, what I want them to know is that Specos Enterprises isn’t about quick wins. We’re here for those who want to build a legacy of health and performance. We create lasting transformations that go beyond the physical, aligning the mind and body to help you live the life you truly deserve.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Risk-taking has been a constant theme in my journey, and I believe it’s an essential part of growth. For me, taking risks has never been about being reckless—it’s been about betting on myself, trusting my abilities, and stepping into the unknown with a calculated mindset. I view risk as an opportunity to either win or learn, but never fail.

One of the biggest risks I took was leaving the security of a stable job as a collegiate strength coach at Purdue to build my own business. I had spent years honing my craft in a structured environment, and walking away from that safety net to create Specos Enterprises was a huge leap. There was no guarantee of success, no clear roadmap to follow, and honestly, a lot of uncertainty. But I knew I had the passion and the expertise, and that confidence gave me the courage to step out and create something truly my own.

Competing in professional bodybuilding also requires a massive amount of risk. You’re pushing your body to the extreme, and the mental and physical demands can take a toll. But the reward? It’s not just about winning a trophy—it’s about proving to myself that I can endure, I can rise, and I can excel at the highest level.

To me, risk is essential for true success. If you’re not willing to step outside your comfort zone, you’re choosing to stay small. Whether it’s launching a new program, evolving my business, or taking a personal leap in competition or relationships, I’ve learned that calculated risks are the gateway to higher levels of fulfillment. Each risk has taught me valuable lessons, and those lessons continue to shape how I lead my business and coach my clients today.
