Meet Christian Ochoa of Ochoa Brands

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christian Ochoa.

Hi Christian, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I love storytelling. There’s something about stories in books, movies, and comic books that I really enjoyed as a kid and it became one of the reasons why I decided to study advertising & communication. Brands always want to build connections with their customers and it’s proven that storytelling is a very effective way to do it. The problem is that most small businesses and startups don’t know how to use the principles of storytelling in order to get and retain the attention of their potential customers. Most of them are losing huge opportunities to sell their products and services online because their website is not helping them acquire new clients. I started Ochoa Brands with the idea to help founders, entrepreneurs, and business owners increase their leads by using storytelling principles on their websites.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nothing comes easy when you’re starting a business. The biggest struggle for me has been trying to tell my clients that their products or services shouldn’t be the center of their communication. When you’re using storytelling in your marketing, you have to realize that your customer should be the hero of the story while your brand should be the guide that will help the hero succeed. This is a big shift for most companies, but think about it, every brand exists because they help their customers solve a problem. Do you have a headache? There’s Tylenol. Are you thirsty? There’s Coca-Cola. That’s why it’s very important that, on your website, you can use clear and compelling language to let people know what problem you solve and how your products or services will improve their lives.

As you know, we’re big fans of Ochoa Brands. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Ochoa Brands is here to help brands of any size achieve their potential. We’re located in Miami but we can serve companies across the USA. I believe that what makes us different is that we have a marketing and branding approach which means that we not only help you design a beautiful website but we help you define a compelling message using storytelling principles so you can engage and encourage visitors to buy your products or services. We strive to help you get results. Our experience in copywriting, design and lead generation will transform your website into a powerful marketing tool that will make your business grow.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Marketing has been evolving along with technology. Who would have thought ten years ago that we would be buying shoes through our phones? Well, in the next years, the future of marketing will be in web3, the blockchain, and cryptocurrencies. These technologies will affect every industry and entrepreneurs have to be educated about how to use these tools if they want to connect with their customers in the future. If your brand wants to succeed in the upcoming years, you will have to build a community of people who want to be part of a story. That’s why storytelling will remain as a powerful tool to recruit followers and transform them into advocates of your brand.
