Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Schwenk.
Hi Chris, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I got into Technology recruiting right out of college just before the 2008 Financial collapse. My firm was heavily involved in Financial Services at the time and their business took a massive hit. They needed someone to expand their relationships outside of Wall Street clients and I jumped at the chance. From there, I formed new relationships in the Telecom/Healthcare/Clinical industries. After years of placing candidates with my clients, I realized I had developed a great network of Management/Executives in Tech. I then expanded my business to include Executive Placements so I could be in a position to help fill open roles for my contacts and also find them better opportunities. You could say I am part head hunter and part “Talent Agent” for high-level Technology Executives and consultants.
During Covid, I went off on my own and started Delos Staffing. Then in 2022, I decided to move to Miami. With all the Tech/Startups/Crypto companies moving down here, I knew I had to be a part of it. Currently, I am looking to connect with all of the players in the exploding Miami Tech scene while maintaining my relationships in the Northeast.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has been extremely rocky. I have lost million-dollar clients for no fault of my own. I would say this gives me a healthy paranoia to continually work harder because you could lose everything at any time.
We’ve been impressed with Delos Staffing, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is recruiting employees and consultants for Technology teams in companies across a variety of industries. What separates Delos from other organizations is we also target Manager/Executive level roles. Therefore, we are not only a source of talent but also a source of new job opportunities for all of our clients.
