Meet Cassidy Mitchell of Cassidy Caroline Salon & Spa in Pembroke Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassidy Mitchell.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Cassidy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I would like to say I had an amazing childhood and maybe a little spoiled being that I’m the youngest out of my two siblings but I didn’t always spend my weekends home, at the pool, or playing with my friends. I would tag along with my mom to her Salon. My mom, Ms. Sharon, has been a cosmetologist for over 25+ years and has owned several beauty salons offering not only natural hair care services but waxing, makeup, manicure and pedicures services as well. My mom was a perfectionist and made sure every client was happy walking out of her chair. I admired the way her clients praised her for growing their hair and being so passionate about what she does. As I got older, I was able to help her wash and condition some of her clients before a Sew-In or braid down someone’s hair for a wig and was taught to be proficient in what I do, just by observing my mom for so many years.

After high school, my mom eagerly wanted me to go to school for nursing because she knew the ups and downs of being a business owner and how hard the Beauty industry can be if I wasn’t willing to put in the work and long hours to be successful and believed a nursing career would be a more guaranteed job. I believed I had to please her and make her happy, so I attempted nursing school and didn’t not get far because my heart wasn’t in it. I made a decision to go after what I had a passion for, which was all things Beauty. I went to Margate school of beauty and got my cosmetology license then on to work in a salon in Coral Springs, FL, where I was also was educated by a Matrix colorist educator Ms. Mihn. She showed me it was possible to have healthy colored hair and broke down the science of hair care to me. I was given the opportunity to not only work on Afro-Textured hair but all other races and hair types. I offered nail and skincare services as well and learned so many profitable skills that I would carry on with me forever. In 2015 my mom opened up her 4th Salon in Pembroke Park, FL, where I began renting my first booth. She also educated me more about how to run a salon and building a solidary and serene relationship with other stylists that we hire to be apart of our full-service Salon.

Now, in present 2020 I am now the owner of Cassidy Caroline Salon & Spa. I thank my mom and everyone else who saw that I really wanted succeed and make a difference. For passing down this amazing talent of giving women the kind of confidence, all of them never thought they can have and that is to feel confident in their own hair! To embrace and love what God gave them. To wear whatever style you want without compromising the health of your hair. My goal is to get other hairstyles in South Florida to get in on the Healthy Hair Tips and Tricks that will allow their clients to embrace their natural, even when under protective styles changing the way most women view their natural hair.

Has it been a smooth road?
Success is walking failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm – Winston Churchill. I honestly appreciate all of the obstacles that I have been given in my journey to being a business owner. I have taken each lesson learned and turn into new opportunities earned. I don’t get to caught up when I don’t succeed on something or get what I want. I see the good in most failures and try again.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Cassidy Caroline Salon & Spa – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Natural Hair Care has always been instilled in me from day one and it’s something that I will never lose sight of. Not only do I take pride in making sure my clients love the way that their hair is styled but also has a hairstyle that will last them, which starts with having healthy hair. Hair that is damaged and neglected will eventually decay over time, minimizing the amount of styles that Client will be able to do as they get older. Being someone that offers washing and conditioning treatments and removal of split ends, using natural products that are designed for healthy hair growth, makes a huge difference! I would interact with so many different women and they all had the same story, which was “It’s been a long time since I had someone take care of my hair before actually styling it,” and that just did not sit well with me.

I made it my duty to offer my clients with the upmost care and professionalism because that’s what I was used to. Not having the “time” to add the important steps of healthy hair care to my services was no longer an excuse. I started out doing the Silk Press, which is a service that allows naturals to wear their hair straight without compromising of their natural curls this also allows me to even outs someone’s natural hair so that everything is even and falls beautifully in its straight state and curly. For women that aren’t quite ready to wear their natural hair due to damage from past services, I also have offer Extensions services such as Sew-Ins and custom- made units, which allows them to remove their wig aka Unit without the use of glue, bands or clips. Cassidy Caroline Salon & Spa Also offers braiding styles, manicure and pedicures, waxing and makeup services.
