Meet Carol and Logan Lezell of Bello Moi in Boca Raton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carol and Logan Lezell.

Carol, Logan, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Ironically, starting a new business was never the initial plan but as our ideas grew, my mom and I realized there was something there and Bello Moi the anti-aging skincare business was born. We complimented each other, in coupling my extensive aesthetician background and thorough research following overall dissatisfaction with the products in the marketplace. In addition, I needed something that would not irritate my sensitive rosacea skin and Carol (my mom) needed to help with the effects of too many years in the sun.

Typically, skincare start ups seek a chemist to formulate the products, however, we spent more than two years researching the most cutting edge information and tested individual and combined ingredients which solved and benefited skin issues.

While initially all of this research was conceived for personal use, friends and family benefited from the products and then the business was formed. And then, yes, a chemist was brought on board and provided the seal of approval.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Starting a new business always has its ups and downs. We learned from the mistakes along the way. For example, my mom ended up at the dermatologist twice with a swollen discolored face only to find out she was allergic to Vitamin K. It is an effective ingredient used in many skincare products, but unfortunately some people tend to be sensitive to it. Needless to say, it is not in Bello Moi products. We stayed away from harmful ingredients that can cause sensitivity, irritation and inflammation.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Bello Moi – what should we know?
Bello Moi is a unique skincare line because all of the products are made with ingredients really targeting specific issues and safe to use on the skin. Since the skin absorbs anything applied, it is beyond essential to make certain only the healthiest ingredients are applied to the epidermis.

But it’s not just about what’s in our products that’s important; we also have a strict list of ingredients that we don’t formulate with, like parabens, phthalates, sulfates and synthetic fragrances.

In addition, it is just as important to understand that whatever nutrients you are placing on your skin should also be fed within the body. In other words, nourish yourself from the inside out.

This led to carefully researched recipes which we used to formulate a cook book titled, “Healthy Recipes for Healthy Skin” to complement the skincare products. Compiling, cooking and eating all the recipes in our cook book was quite a task. Friends and family really enjoyed the benefits of trialing the many recipes.

We definitely have to thank our friends and family for all the support and encouragement they gave us through our development process. They were always willing to try a new product and give us honest feedback. The honesty was the most important quality of their help because we wanted to make the best and most efficient products.
