Today we’d like to introduce you to Carlos And The Experience
Hi Carlos and The Experience , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Carlos Escanilla, our singer, has been a staple in the Miami music scene since 2007, known for his powerful, soulful vocals and rhythmic guitar playing. Initially, he performed extensively with his cover band. However, as those members became busier and gigs slowed, he started a side project called ESCO in 2016, featuring Scott on electric guitar, Orion on drums, Jorge on bass, and Carlos on lead vocals and rhythm guitar. They played at various Miami venues.
In June 2023, Carlos was approached by Ale Pizarro, the bands current trumpet player, and Adam, saxophonist from Carlos’s other band, about performing together. This coincided with an ESCO performance, and on July 22, 2023, all six members performed together for the first time as “Carlos and the Experience.”
By January 2024, Aime joined as a co-vocalist. In July 2024, Orion and Carlos found Sam Savage to join on trombone. Over the last 15 months, we have grown tremendously, performing at festivals such as the Coconut Grove Arts Festival, as well as other major music venues in the Miami area.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Outside of what one could expect from keeping an eight piece band organized, it has been a smooth ride because we all have the same level of excitement for this project. We all have the same amount of passion into music performance, and a desire to share our energy With our community and anybody who enjoys live music.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Carlos and the Experience is a dynamic band from Miami, Florida, featuring a diverse cultural background. Our rhythm section keeps you moving, while our horn section adds a unique flair to the Miami music scene. Recognized for our high-energy performances and the love we share on stage, our sound blends soul, funk, power folk, and our city’s awesome energy. Our debut single “Fine Line” captures the essence of our influences and is a blast to dance to. We love and respect eachother very much, and we always have fun, and it’s contagious.
How do you think about happiness?
What we frequently say is that we’re consistently happy just because we all found each other. Without music, it would have been very unlikely for these eight humans to come together. And the joy we feel when we’re performing for our supporters is like none other. we enjoy seeing people dance, and singing, and the look of surprise on their faces when we add our unique Carlos and the experience flare to songs. And it makes us happy to be able to provide this in our hometown Miami Florida.
