Today we’d like to introduce you to Camila.
Hi Camila, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am a native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where my passion for sports such as track and field, handball, and basketball began at an early age. This enthusiasm led me to pursue a degree in Physical Education, aiming to help individuals enhance their quality of life and surpass their personal limits.
In 2010, I embraced a unique opportunity to work as a Personal Trainer aboard cruise ships. This role allowed me to travel the world while promoting healthy lifestyles among passengers.
During one of these voyages in 2012, I met Andrea, an Italian who would become my husband. In 2013, I relocated to Brescia, Italy, where I continued my career as a Personal Trainer and began offering online coaching. Together, Andrea and I have built a beautiful family with our two children, Rebecca (5 years old) and Nicolas (8 years old).
Despite the joys of motherhood, I felt the need to carve out personal time and space. This led me to undertake a new challenge: becoming a Bikini bodybuilding athlete. In 2024, I participated in three competitions (I won alol of them) achieving first place in my category (over 35 years old and 1.69 m height).
In August 2024, Andrea’s career brought our family to Miami. Seizing this transition, I focused on my online coaching business, dedicating myself to guiding women who aspire to improve their physical fitness and health. My approach emphasizes transforming daily habits, prioritizing self-care, and fostering self-love.
In January of this year, I began preparing for a new competition scheduled in the USA for September. By sharing my training routines and nutritional habits on social media in the last 5 months living in Miami I have established significant partnerships with two prominent companies in the fitness industry, serving as their brand ambassador.
The transition has been—and continues to be—challenging; relocating to a new country is never easy. However, maintaining a positive mindset and believing that good things can happen makes the journey feel lighter. My current goal is to inspire and transform women, especially mothers, who, over time, have neglected themselves and lost self-esteem, often falling into a vicious negative cycle.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Balancing responsibilities as a wife and mother—caring for my husband and children—alongside managing work and household duties, is never easy, especially without a family support . It’s essential to be flexible with yourself , refraining from self-punishment for tasks left undone, and instead, acknowledging daily accomplishments. This underscores the importance of allocating time for personal physical and emotional well-being.
Regarding challenges, three years ago, my daughter Rebecca and I were diagnosed with celiac disease, necessitating a strict gluten-free diet. Traveling or dining out becomes particularly challenging when establishments are unprepared or unaware of cross-contamination risks. Unfortunately, many people lack awareness of these dangers. To mitigate this, I always prepare meals for Rebecca and myself, remaining vigilant about our food choices without respite. Despite this obstacle, we refuse to let it hinder our enjoyment of life.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As a certified personal trainer and online coach, I specialize in empowering women, particularly mothers, to enhance their physical fitness and overall well-being. My focus is on helping clients transform their daily habits, prioritize self-care, and cultivate self-love. I’m known for my personalized approach, tailoring fitness and nutrition plans to meet the unique needs of each individual.
One of my proudest accomplishments is successfully balancing my roles as a mother of two and a competitive athlete. In 2024, I participated in three Bikini bodybuilding competitions, securing first place in my category for each. This experience has deepened my understanding of discipline and resilience, which I impart to my clients.
What sets me apart is my holistic approach to fitness, integrating physical training with emotional and mental well-being. I emphasize the importance of flexibility and self-compassion, encouraging clients to celebrate their daily achievements and not dwell on unmet tasks. Additionally, managing celiac disease for both my daughter and myself has heightened my awareness of nutritional challenges, enabling me to offer informed guidance to clients with specific dietary needs.
Overall, my commitment to fostering a supportive and understanding environment allows clients to embark on their fitness journeys with confidence and motivation.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I would like to share with your readers the importance of self-compassion and patience on the journey to personal transformation. Change doesn’t happen overnight, and it’s essential to celebrate small victories along the way. By focusing on progress rather than perfection, we can build sustainable habits that lead to lasting well-being. Remember, prioritizing your health and happiness isn’t selfish—it’s necessary. When you take care of yourself, you’re better equipped to care for those around you.
