Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Blair.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Four years ago, I decided to start a “mom blog.” I felt like there were so many blogs out there but they didn’t seem very authentic. I felt as if each woman was just pushing me to buy products that they didn’t even truly use or stand by and that drove me nuts. I wanted to create a place where moms could go for honest opinions, advice, funny stories and genuine support. Fast forward four years and not only have I succeeded in creating what I have just explained but I have also branched out of my “niche” and have become an advocate for women who suffer from Endometriosis, Adenomyosis and or PCOS. I’ve been featured on multiple podcasts, various platforms/articles and have been invited to speak at conferences throughout the country.
I have also recently started my own marketing company which offers social media management, website development/design, logo creation and graphic design for all social media platforms. I’ve done all of this while raising a beautiful baby girl who is now five years old and while suffering from Stage IV Endometriosis. I’ve had three major surgeries in the last two years including a total hysterectomy at age 26 and a partial vaginectomy at age 27. My dream won’t stop here. Nothing makes me happier than helping other women feel empowered and giving them a safe platform to speak their mind and feel comfortable even during their most vulnerable moments. I’m so grateful to have the support of my incredible partner, Mark and my beautiful daughter, Emma Rose. None of these achievements would have been possible without either of them.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
In my opinion, your business can’t possibly be successful without various obstacles and struggles along the way. I have not had a smooth road but I am the kind of person who tries to find positivity in every situation and also goodness in every single person I encounter. In the past few years of my life, I have encountered some extremely cruel and horrible people but I continue to try to see the good and stay positive. Everything happens for a reason. My health has been a major obstacle but thanks to my beautiful family and the absolutely incredible doctors at The Cleveland Clinic in Weston, I have been able to tackle those obstacles head on. It hasn’t been an easy journey and it’s not over but I am definitely moving in the right direction.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I give honest advice to mothers and I empower women. I show the good and the bad. More often than not, you see influencers living seemingly flawless and perfect lives. I feel like it’s so important to show the positive sides of life and the difficult. We learn from our mistakes and they make us better people. If we were all perfect, we wouldn’t have half as many successful people as we have in this world. I am so proud of the fact that regardless of the various offers I’ve received in regards to collaborations or brand affiliations, I have stuck to my morals and only chosen to promote brands that I personally use and love.
What were you like growing up?
I was a very artistic child. I played literally every single instrument that was put in front of me and started singing at the same time that I began to speak. Selena and Céline Dion were my idols and my dream was to be a performer like them….to share my love of music with others. I had lead roles in various musicals and plays, sang at church and in the choir at school. You could say that I was a bit of a nerd but I loved sports as well. My life was a little more difficult than my peers. In high school, I not only had to focus on my extracurricular activities and studies but I also had three jobs. Yes…three. I went to a prestigious Catholic High School and had a scholarship to attend. I was also adopted at birth and introduced to my biological family in my teen and early adult years so that definitely makes my story interesting. My adopted mom raised my brother and I practically on her own and put us both through Catholic School from Pre-School until 12th grade and it wasn’t until I had my daughter that I fully understood what it took to do so and that I was truly grateful.
