Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna Hopper.
Brianna, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have always been into skincare since I was little and hoped to be a dermatologist when I grew up. My first semester in college I ended up having my son and being a mom became a full-time job. I changed my major to minor in early care education and major in speech pathology. This way I could work in schools as a speech pathologist and also have nights and summers off to spend time with my son. I always struggled with acne as a teen and had lots of sun damage and enlarged pores, which I was super insecure about. After seeing multiple dermatologists and trying every prescription I possibly could, I finally decided to see a medical aesthetician to try to help me with my skin.
After seeing her for about six appointments, she realized how passionate I was about skin and suggested I went to school for it as a side job while I worked on my master’s degree. Seeing such a transformation in my skin, I realized that I could change people’s lives and help boost their confidence by helping them with their skin! That’s when I decided to give Laser and Beauty Institute in Palm Beach/Jupiter a shot and graduated their aesthetician program in about two months. I worked for them as an aesthetician and then became an instructor as well as took their laser and electrologist program so I could do it all and really make a difference in people’s lives! After working there for about six months, I decided I was ready to take the next step and open my own spot to work on my client’s skin.
I ended up renting a room in my grandparent’s dental office (Dr Krape’s Cosmetic Dentistry) to get started and quickly outgrew one room and needed two. I grew my practice in a wing of their office and now expanding and opening a new location called yng. In downtown west palm beach. yng. Stands for you’ll never guess and this is not your average medspa. This spot is going to be a speakeasy boutique and medspa in one with an art gallery and hidden doors. Very different and trendy! I am so blessed to be able to watch my business grow while helping thousands of others feel amazing in their own skin.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I am really passionate about what I do and love what I do so it has been pretty simple. I do not feel like I work when I am at the spa with my clients; it’s always so rewarding to do what I love and help someone else. Everyone always leaves with a smile and it feels so good!
