Meet Bradley Brown of Made By Divine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bradley Brown.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Bradley. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
From a young age, I was always encouraged to creatively express myself. As time progressed, music and photography have become an integral part of my life. I began playing in my middle and high school band as a saxophonist. Throughout high school, I struggled to figure out how I would be able to continue with music. Pressure from my parents led me to believe that there was no stability with a career in music (although now I know otherwise). Falling victim to naivete, I chose to major in environmental engineering with the intention of gaining enough professional experience to do missions work throughout parts of the world that need access to clean sanitation facilities. It was still a win/win situation from my perspective, but I didn’t want to give up on music just yet. Knowing that a saxophone would be too loud for my college dorm room, I decided to learn the guitar. The more I practiced and performed, the more I realized God had placed music in my life for a reason.

Halfway through my time in undergrad, my mom gifted me with my first camera, a Canon EOS M5. Eager to learn how to use it, I was taken under the apprenticeship of an Orlando based photographer named Woody Joseph. Already having a successful photography business, he mentored me on how to approach branding myself. I didn’t want the focus to be either music or photography, but a combination of the two. Through prayer, I decided to start a creative services company called Made By Divine LLC. Although the journey is not complete, I hope that I can inspire others through my story and services.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There have been a few obstacles that have made this journey difficult. The most notable one is having a career outside of what I am creatively focused on. At times, it can be mentally exhausting. I find myself in a creative drought some evenings, but I have incorporated certain aspects to my workflow to help combat the issue. Another obstacle that I have faced has been finding a creative community to be a part of. I believe collaboration is an important element to the creative process. As a creative, we can find ourselves caught in our own bubble. For me, it’s been difficult having an idea and wanting to expound on it with other creatives but not finding the space to do such a thing.

Please tell us about Made By Divine.
Made By Divine specializes in creative services such as music production, portrait photography, and creative directing. With music production, that includes mixing and mastering of tracks, beat production, or a session musician. I am most proud of getting to experience peoples’ reactions towards the finished product, whether it’s for a client or a collaborator. What sets me apart from others is the knowledge and experience with both photography and music and how generous I can be with it. I don’t mind helping others with their questions and even pointing them to the right resources.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success as the ability to live a fruitful life spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. Loving the work you do, positively impacting others, and serving with a purpose is the philosophy I abide by.
