Today we’d like to introduce you to Big J.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
My story starts from the bottom I grew up with not much as a kid so I had to learn if I wanted something I had to go get it myself. Born and raised on the east side of Palm Beach County Florida where my environment wasn’t necessarily the best but it molded me into the person I am now.
Please tell us about your art.
I’m an artist of many forms including music & visual arts. With any art, there is freedom of expression with my music. I try to project my struggles the ups the downs and everything in between from my life into one sound. It could be the way I’m feeling at the time or because of a specific moment at the time being it’s all goes off how I’m feeling. Tbh I really don’t have a direction for the music I’m not looking to get famous or be #1 but if it happens, people gravitate towards what I’m doing and I just go from there.
As an artist, how do you define success and what quality or characteristic do you feel is essential to success as an artist?
Success can mean a lot of things to different people but for me, success means reaching the Right people and touching the right hearts. I could blow up overnight and have millions of fans because I’m being pushed out to the masses but do they really feel who I am and what I’m saying that’s the difference, my character is very solid when it comes to a lot of things so success for me comes different. I’d say humbleness and gratitude is a big part of success you can’t forget who you are and where you came from.
