Meet Bianca Herrera

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bianca Herrera.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Bianca. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
When I was a little girl, I was always ready to get in front of the camera and pose. My family played a huge role in my story because there were many family members who would take my pictures. Even though I loved taking pictures, I never wanted to pursue modeling at all. However, with my family consistently encouraging me, I began to reconsider. My first modeling opportunity was with Rashawn Rose Bridal, modeling prom dresses for them. Since then, I have partnered with multiple local photographers, like @andremoisestudios and @vsdphotography. I partner with local photographers to model and to help them grow their business, while I use my photos to address topics like social justice, faith, and lifestyle on my Instagram.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Modeling has always been a relatively easy and simple road for me. However, when I started to use the pictures I took for a purpose, other than modeling, that is when the struggle began. I received a lot of differing opinions and criticism because of my viewpoint on certain topics. But that has not stopped me. The struggle and criticism has only encouraged me to expand the type of photoshoots I want to be a part of and to put more meaning behind the pictures I take.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
You can call me an influencer, model, blogger, freelancer, or content creator. I model for local photographers, so I as a person, have become a brand and my “brand” is what I am most known for. I use the photos I take to help promote businesses, photographers, and to expand my own personal brand. I am not a traditional model or blogger and I think that is what sets me apart. Additionally, the content I help promote or produce ranges. It can range from fashion, editorial photo shoots to faith-based content to spreading awareness about social problems/justice.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success as being confident in your purpose, success to me starts within because defining success by the amount of money you make or from the validation of others is fleeting. In other words, you can lose money and people will think you are not good enough, so you cannot define success that way. Instead, being confident that everything you do in your business and beyond is for a purpose and that purpose is good. That is my definition of success. This confidence will build stamina within yourself in order for you to stay motivated regardless of any criticism or failure.
