Today, we’d like to introduce you to Ben Bauron. Ben was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Shaun Gold.
Ben, can you walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always been drawn to the entrepreneurial path, even when it meant going against the grain. My parents wanted me to become a lawyer, and I was even set to begin my law degree. But two weeks before classes started, I withdrew my admission—losing thousands of dollars in the process—and moved to a new city to follow my own path.
In this new city, I split my time between learning to code by day and bartending by night to make ends meet. After a year of hustling and learning, I launched a fintech startup. But that venture taught me some hard lessons. It failed because I made several classic first-time founder mistakes: I built the product before really understanding the market, communication with partners broke down, and I lacked a foundational knowledge of entrepreneurship.
That experience hit me hard, and I’ll admit it, I felt pretty down about myself. But instead of giving up, I doubled down on self-improvement. I connected with high-value people, learned from my mistakes, and gained a clearer understanding of how things work in the startup and tech spaces.
With everything I’d learned, I eventually started a marketing-based startup. In our very first month, we secured clients who genuinely appreciated our services. This time around, I had a stronger grasp on how to build a lean product, network effectively, and continually evaluate my own growth—all lessons learned the hard way.
In 2023, I co-founded Windmill Growth, a personal branding agency, because I saw firsthand how valuable it is for founders to share their stories and stand out in a crowded market. My goal now is to help other founders do just that, leveraging what I’ve learned to make personal branding a growth engine for them. Windmill Growth is all about turning voices into connections and driving real results through strategy, authenticity, and engagement.
So here I am, sharing my journey, my mistakes, and my insights into entrepreneurship, tech, and marketing. If you’re a founder feeling stuck or unsure of your next step, let’s connect—I’d love to help you navigate the real challenges and find clarity in your journey.
Please tell us more about your brand, Windmill
At Windmill Growth, we specialize in helping founders and freelancers build a powerful personal brand that drives real results. We’re not just another agency—what sets us apart is the way we combine data, AI insights, and my background in software engineering with authentic, human-driven copywriting. This approach allows us to create personalized content strategies that resonate with audiences on a deep level. Our clients benefit from insights powered by data and AI, but we ensure that the final message feels genuine and engaging. I’m proud that we’ve developed a process where technology supports, rather than replaces, authentic human interaction. Our blend of analytical precision and creative storytelling helps clients not only grow their presence but also connect meaningfully with their audience. We’re most proud of the impact we make. We’ve seen clients go from feeling ‘stuck’ to achieving real growth and recognition. Knowing that our work helps people find their unique voice and make a difference—that’s what drives us every day at Windmill Growth.
