Today we’d like to introduce you to Barton G. Weiss.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Over the course of my illustrious 20-year hospitality career, I have created more than 20,000 events for Fortune 500 companies, celebrities and sports association clients, including BMW, Giorgio Armani, NBC, Microsoft, Neiman Marcus, Cartier, the National Football League, and Professional Golfers Association.
A native New Yorker, I first moved to Miami in 1993 to launch my multifaceted event design firm, Barton G. It came out of pooling all of my passions and talents. Barton G. continued to grow as I incorporated food into the mix with flowers and design. As a restaurateur, I am is known to bring my theatrical event concepts into the world of fine dining. In 2002, I opened Barton G. The Restaurant in South Beach, known for fanciful, over-the-top presentations that introduce greater drama into the culinary culture.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Owning and operating a restaurant is like putting on a fashion show. The curtain may go up at 6 pm every day, but a lot of preparation goes into making each night a unique multi-sensory experience for the senses. If there is a struggle, it’s that we are tirelessly trying to outdo ourselves with our culinary creativity and presentation.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
At Barton G. The Restaurant, our philosophy is that cooking is a cause for celebration and what we do is more than feed people, we inspire them. Our concept of ‘Fun-Dining’ has redefined what it means to enjoy an upscale, high-end, specialized dining experience. When you dine with us be prepared to shock & awe your senses with a combination of impeccable food served on or in over-the-top whimsical presentations.
Our culinary theatrics are also very Instagram-worthy. For example, smoking nitrogen cocktails, entrees served with samurai swords and desserts like a 4-foot tall cotton candy wig.
