Meet Arantxa Salazar of Miami

Today we’d like to introduce you to Arantxa Salazar.

Arantxa, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey really began at the intersection of design and wellness. I’ve always been drawn to creating spaces that make people feel something, so with my background in interior design and a growing passion for holistic health, I wanted to merge those two worlds in a meaningful way. 727 Pilates came to life on my own journey to find stillness and holistic wellness through a personal medical condition. It became a sanctuary where mindful movement, recovery and design all coexist. Every element of the studio, from the textures to the lighting, was intentionally created to support a sense of calm and renewal. It’s inspired by my own wellness journey and the belief that self-care isn’t a luxury, but something we can integrate into our everyday lives

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been smooth, and I don’t think it’s supposed to be. There are constant ups and downs, and I’ve learned to appreciate that as part of the beauty of the process. Millions of problems came up along the way while we were creating 727, but we never gave up. Each challenge became an opportunity to rethink, adapt, and find new solutions. There were moments when I stopped and questioned whether I had made the right decisions or if taking this leap was truly the right move. Some of the biggest challenges were things we couldn’t control, like permits and construction timelines that were completely out of our hands. And being in Miami, such a seasonal city, we’ve had to learn how to adjust to the rhythm of the market. But every struggle has taught us something valuable and expanded our mindset. In the end, the difficult moments have shaped us far more than the easy ones ever could.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Absolutely, thank you for having me. I’m an interior designer, and that has been my full-time work for many years. I specialize in residential interiors, and I truly love it because I’m not just creating spaces, I’m creating homes. There is something very meaningful about helping someone shape their sanctuary, a place where they can recharge, feel supported, and experience a sense of peace.

At the same time, over the last few years, my personal life went through a major shift. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, and that experience changed many of my habits and passions. It pushed me deeper into the wellness world, and I realized I wanted to create a space I personally wished existed during my own journey, somewhere I could go to feel calm, supported, and cared for in a holistic way. When I couldn’t find that space, I decided to create it.

That is how I became involved in the wellness scene. I don’t teach Pilates, although I did get my certification, but I love blending the worlds of interior design and studio management. It allows me to bring intentional design into an environment centered around healing and mindful movement. For me, it is about creating spaces, whether a home or a wellness studio, that truly make people feel something. I believe that balance of design, wellness, and lived experience is what sets my work apart.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Luck has shown up in my life in many different ways, both challenging and positive. One of the biggest turning points came when I was diagnosed with a medical condition. At the time, it felt like bad luck, because movement suddenly required stillness, intention, and a completely different pace. But that experience ended up guiding me toward the wellness world and inspiring me to create the kind of healing space I wished I had myself. What felt like a setback became the seed for something meaningful.

I’ve also experienced a lot of good luck throughout my journey. I’ve met the right people at the right time, received support when I needed it most, and had opportunities open up in ways I never expected. Those moments have helped shape both my career in interior design and the creation of the studio.

Overall, I believe luck is part of everyone’s path, but what really matters is how you respond to it. Whether it looks good or bad at first, luck has taught me to stay open, trust the process, and turn every moment into something that moves me forward.
