Today we’d like to introduce you to Angelo Ayar, MD.
Angelo, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
After graduating from the University of Michigan Dermatology Residency program, I knew I wanted to practice in Florida. I have friends and family here and it’s where I could put into practice my years of research into skin cancer. After working for a corporation, I was unhappy with the quality of care I could deliver to my patients based on the lack of resources offered to deliver the highest quality dermatologic care. I knew that if I wanted to be at the forefront of scientific and technologic advancement, I would need to go off on my own.
I purchased a practice in Tamarac, FL and named it Dermatology Experts to differentiate myself from others based on my research background and world-class training I received. After relocating to South Florida after residency, I noticed the abundance of mobile services offered. Everything seemed to be mobile: restaurant takes out, groceries, pet care, car washes, dentists, blood donation… almost anything you could think of! After adding Coolsculpting and other aesthetics to my newly formed private practice, I thought, “how could I offer the high-quality care I deliver in my office to the patient who either doesn’t have time to visit the office or simply prefers the convenience of at home (or at work) treatments?” With this mission, I created Mobile BodySculpt.
Since it’s inception, we have provided treatments to patients all over South Florida and the main feedback we receive is how our clients feel like “royalty.” We received requests to all offer aesthetic injectables, which we now offer as part of our services!
During the pandemic and after cosmetic restrictions were lifted, patients wanted to minimize contact with others with the satisfaction that they were being treated in a safe and sterile environment. Mobile BodySculpt has been a perfect option for these patients at just the right time. We have partnered with a cleaning company qualified to disinfect using hospital-grade disinfectants so our patients can rest assured that they are in a clean and safe environment. My passion and drive to be at the forefront of innovation and technology lead me to serve the South Florida community with mobile aesthetics!
Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road, but nothing in life worth doing ever is. Designing a vehicle to serve this specific purpose took several months of research, trial and error. From the first prototype designs to finding the right vehicle to the build-out, the process took a little over a year.
Once the van was built out, bringing a new concept to market took a lot of work in terms of logistics, advertising and efficiency. Once we had this all figured out and the ball began to roll, we were hit with the pandemic forced to shut down our operation for four months. Now, as we have re-branded as a Covid-friendly option for private aesthetics, we found ourselves as the only option in a flourishing market!
We’d love to hear more about your practice.
We are a full-service dermatology practice specializing in surgical, cosmetic and medical dermatology. So if you have a suspicious growth that might be melanoma or would like fillers or body contouring, we can help you. What separates us, like I said, is that we are the first mobile med-spa in South Florida called Mobile BodySculpt. We bring Coolsculpting, Botox, and fillers to you!
I’m most proud of our commitment to quality. I was adamant that I be able to offer the same quality care that I can offer in the office, brought straight to you. I graduated from one of the top training programs in the country where being a leader and quality care were heavily stressed and I brought those values with me to this brand.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
By all accounts, our lives are becoming more and more mobile. The pandemic only accelerated this trend. More and more medical care will be provided in a mobile fashion, especially cosmetic treatments, where having them done has become an experience. This is where I think our industry will follow the mobile trends of other sectors. I have received phone calls from many leading aesthetic practices in the northeast, asking about our model and express interest in their desire to bring a mobile component to their aesthetic practice. We will see more and more mobile businesses in the coming years, I’m convinced.
