Today we’d like to introduce you to Andres Garcia.
Andres, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started my career working for Aaron’s Catering in 2010 as a cook, six months later I started working for Michelle Bernstein in Sra. Martinez, I was there for about a year before the restaurant was shut down, then I moved on to Macy’s Catering. I opened my catering company, Billy G Catering, named after a nickname given to me by my close friends, in 2013 and have been dedicating myself to it ever since. Luckily thanks to the success that I have achieved I have had the privilege of working for some very famous and important people, a highlight of which is cooking for President Obama during one of his visits to Miami. The success has also afforded me a bit of notoriety among the local foodie community in which I am not only known for my cooking but also for my catchphrase “Never trust a skinny chef.” This notoriety has allowed me to branch and become a personal chef, I have been blessed with the opportunity to cook for some incredible people during their stays in the city, and I am very happy that I can call some of them a friend.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Things have not always been easy, I started the company with 500 dollars and one client, thanks to hard work and a lot of dedication the company has been steadily growing, after a while I had to make the decision to leave my everyday job in order to expand the company, it was a risk at the time, but it has paid off greatly. Currently our list of clients is constantly expanding and so is the number of staff that we employ.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Billy G Catering L.L.C – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are a full service catering company specializing in personal and corporate events ranging from small ten person gatherings to large scale corporate gatherings for thousands of people, all of our events are designed to fit the customer’s palate and their idea of what the event’s food needs should be, we work with our clients and customize the menus to fit their vision and taste.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
The current plans are to stay the course, continuing to grow steadily increasing our clientele and staff at a reasonable pace so that we will not have to sacrifice the personal touch that we offer our customers for the sake of growing.
