Meet Andrea Rodriguez of Marcha House

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Rodriguez.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m Andrea Rodriguez, the founder and lead product developer behind Marcha House, a full-service beauty and wellness development studio based in Miami Beach.

I was born and raised in Miami, first-generation, with immigrant parents who taught me the value of hard work and resilience. Beauty was always part of my world. My grandmother was completely obsessed with her products, so vain in the best way. I don’t think I ever saw her without her makeup on or her hair undone. I grew up loving beauty routines, ingredients, and textures without realizing there was an entire industry behind them.

I went to Boston University planning to study public relations, but after an internship, I quickly realized it wasn’t the right fit. Around that time, a friend mentioned she wanted to work in product development at Glossier, back when Glossier was the brand. I remember thinking, Wait, you can do that as a job? Don’t you have to be a chemist? But once I started researching, I became completely obsessed. I loved the idea of bringing something physical to life, watching a concept turn into a formula, then into a finished product someone can hold in their hands. That was it for me.

After graduating, I moved back to Miami and set my sights on Luxury Brand Partners, the only company in town doing product development at a high level. I made it my mission to work there. Eventually, I did. It became the best training ground I could’ve asked for. I helped develop product for brands like IGK, Elaluz, One/Size and Smith and Cult which would go on to be acquired by giants like Estée Lauder and L’Oréal. It’s where I learned how to build a brand from scratch, both strategically and creatively.

I fell into consulting completely by accident. A VC fund connected me with a company that was looking for a product development consultant. I didn’t even know what that meant at the time. I was still looking for a full-time job. But I said yes. Then another project came, and another. That’s how Marcha House was born, entirely through word of mouth.

Since then, we’ve grown into a full-scale development studio helping brands of all sizes, from scrappy startups to scaled beauty houses. We specialize in all things beauty — haircare, skincare, color cosmetics, ingestibles, and personal care, and have developed award-winning products for celebrity founders, influencer-led lines, and global wellness companies.

Now, we’re expanding into contract manufacturing to give our clients even more speed, control, and quality, all while staying rooted in intentional storytelling and elevated formulations. I’m so passionate about product development because it has the power to change how people feel. It’s a job that blends science, beauty, emotion, and impact, and I feel lucky to do it every day.

As a Latina founder, it’s important to me that the products we create don’t just work, but that they mean something. Beauty should be inclusive, emotional, and elevated. That’s always been the heart of what we do at Marcha House.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not smooth. When I first started consulting, I had no roadmap. I didn’t plan to start a business, I was just saying yes to projects and figuring it out as I went. I didn’t have a team, a website, or even a name at the beginning. I had to learn how to structure contracts, manage timelines, navigate sourcing delays, and balance creative with operations all at once.

I was also extremely undercharging in the beginning. I didn’t fully understand the value of what I was offering, and I didn’t know how to price myself. That led to a few tough lessons around burnout, scope creep, and setting boundaries. It took time, confidence, and a few mistakes to really understand how to advocate for myself and charge accordingly.

Because Marcha House grew purely through word of mouth, it also meant I was often working behind the scenes without recognition or credit, even for products that became category leaders. That taught me a lot about boundaries, self-advocacy, and the importance of owning your expertise.

Imposter syndrome was also very real. I constantly questioned whether I was qualified enough to lead major launches or advise high-growth brands. Over time, I learned to trust my instincts and let my work speak for itself.

The hardest part was learning to say no. When you’re building something from the ground up, you want to take every opportunity, but I’ve learned that protecting your energy and aligning with the right partners is just as important as the work itself.

So no, not smooth. But every challenge pushed me to evolve, and I wouldn’t change that.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Marcha House?
Marcha House is a full-service product development and innovation studio specializing in beauty, haircare, skincare, ingestibles, and wellness. We bring products to life from concept to shelf, working with brands at every stage of the process. Whether it’s a founder with an idea, a celebrity launching a line, or a global wellness company expanding into new categories, we help turn visions into elevated, retail-ready realities.

We handle everything in-house from formulation and R&D to packaging sourcing, testing, product strategy, and storytelling. We’re known for being fast, flexible, and meticulous, without compromising on quality or creativity. Our in-house lab, combined with a library of over 3,000 base formulas, allows us to move quickly while still creating thoughtful, customized products that feel high-touch and differentiated.

Marcha House began as a consulting business that grew organically through word of mouth. Today, we’ve evolved into a true development partner. We work with both emerging and established brands, including celebrity-led lines, influencer-driven launches, and supplement companies entering the topical space. We’ve helped develop multiple Allure Best of Beauty award-winning products for brands like IGK Hair, ONE/SIZE by Patrick Starrr, Crown Affair, and Elaluz.

What sets us apart is our ability to bridge strategy and execution. We’re not just creative thinkers or formulators we understand the full lifecycle of a product and how to create something that performs, connects emotionally, and sells. Because we’ve worked across so many categories and business models, we’re able to provide tailored guidance on how to scale, stand out, and grow with intention.

Most recently, we’ve expanded into contract manufacturing, which gives our clients even more. This vertical integration allows us to serve as a true end-to-end partner, from ideation all the way through to finished product.

At the heart of Marcha House is a genuine love for product development and storytelling. We believe a great product isn’t just about efficacy it should evoke a feeling, solve a need, and live beautifully in someone’s routine. That’s what we do best.

Any big plans?
We’re in a really exciting stage of growth at Marcha House. What started as a consulting business has evolved into a full-scale development studio, and now we’re expanding into contract manufacturing. This next phase allows us to have even more control over quality, timelines, and innovation especially for emerging brands that need a true partner from start to finish.

We’re also investing in expanding our internal lab capabilities, building out a stronger in-house team, and continuing to grow our formula library so we can move even faster without sacrificing customization or creativity.

Beyond infrastructure, I’m looking forward to working on more mission-driven brands ones that have something real to say and are solving meaningful problems in beauty and wellness.

So while there are big changes ahead, they’re all rooted in staying true to what we do best: thoughtful, elevated, intentional product development.
