Today we’d like to introduce you to Ana Malvarez.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Ana. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m a Medical Aesthetician and Laser Technician with 20+ years experience in the skincare field, I’m a mother, I’m a wife and a wanderlust at heart. To this date, I have been fortunate enough to work with the top dermatologist and surgeons in Miami, FL. I absolutely love my job and my husband and friends remind me all the time how lucky I am to do what I love every day. My passion for skin care started when I was a young girl and struggled with acne. I was able to receive a facial but unfortunately, it went terribly wrong. As I got into this industry, I knew I was never going to give that type of experience to any of my patients… ever. I’m so conscious and truly care for the success of my patients’ skin. My passion is something that I take pride in and have always tried to make an effort to never stop learning. I can only hope to continue making a difference in people’s lives and self-confidence.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
To some this may be considered a struggle but to me it’s an important part of my journey that got me to where I am today. When I was working for top dermatologist in Miami about 15 years ago, I was working out of multiple locations and I didn’t feel like my clients and I had a “home”, until I came here to Miami Plastic Surgery and Med Spa. Even though this period of my career was challenging, working with such an array of Dermatologist made me the Aesthetician that I am today. This also gave me the tools I needed to build the skin department here at MPS. Thanks to Dr. Kelly and Dr. Wolf’s support and their trust in me.
Please tell us about Miami Plastic Surgery and Med Spa.
Here at Miami Plastic Surgery and Med Spa I am the lead Medical Aesthetician and I specialize in anti-aging and skin rejuvenation through HydraFacials, Oxygen Facials, Ultherapy, Cool Sculpting, Microneedling, Dermaplaning, and Chemical Peels.
What I’m recently most proud of is how I’ve been able to build a community on Instagram where my followers feel like they can escape into my skincare world. I am constantly being told by my patients how real, positive and helpful my Instagram is to them. I am also really proud of being featured in Allure magazine multiple times amongst some of the best in the industry.
I think what sets me apart from others is my experience, my love for skincare and being able to connect with my patients on an honest level. If my patients don’t need something, I don’t recommend it and I think this is a huge reason why they believe and trust in me. I like to consider myself their Skin Fairy!
What’s your outlook for the industry in our city?
I believe it’s always growing and there is a lot of opportunity within the skincare community! I think, luckily, Miami has always been at the forefront of skin treatments and ahead of the trend so it’s a great city for this industry.
