Meet Amy Martinez of Miami / South Florida

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Martinez.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
That’s a tough question. How did I get started? I feel like I was always surrounded by music. My parents would always play music around the house. My dad would always put me to bed with the radio on literally. To the point that I got used to sleeping with music on. I think what truly got me started off was my best friend Ale Acosta. Once his career started taking off producing/DJing. He brought me along for the ride and asked me to do some vocals for him and it just kind of took off after that.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As of now, it has been a smooth road, but when we first came out with Tokate. The track that I have with Ale and V1fro. I’m not gonna lie that track we made two years ago, but we were just waiting for the right time to finally put it out there. Also we went back-and-forth about how we wanted it to sound and at the end we ended up making an ep with different versions of the song which makes me so happy because I got to bring along a couple good friends to help with that project as well.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
So I am an artist I lend my voice to some of the best producers that I know. so I am known for some of my vocals on some tracks like for example Tokate with ale Acosta or Fiesta with coffintexts and ale Acosta. I’m most proud of fiesta right now. The track is doing really good in numbers and being played in places, I never would’ve thought I would hear my voice being played. I don’t really think anything sets me apart from others. I think we’re all very unique artist in our own way. I just wanna be able to make a name for myself and bring my people along for the ride.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
The best advice I can give is just to do it. To not think so much about it once you start to think about certain stuff you try to psych yourself out into not doing it. Also it does help having a good support system. Good friends to motivate you and push you.
