

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyssa Grover.
Alyssa, before we jump into specific questions about your company, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I moved to Florida from Maine over 8 years ago to attend school where, over time, I earned degrees in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, & Food Service Management. I attended both Daytona State College and Johnson & Wales University, where at the latter, I met the owner of the catering company I currently run, Chef Alan Bergman. Throughout my educational career, I worked full-time jobs from insurance agency receptionist to being a line cook (even, at times, both!). In doing so I gained the knowledge of how hard work can pay off. In my last year of school I started working part-time at the catering company and have moved from Cook to Sous Chef to Executive Chef. Now, while still keeping most of my Executive Chef duties, I fully operate and manage the company, Chef Alan Bergman Catering. It’s been an awesome 5 years here!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
With anything, whether it’s life or business, there are always bumps in the road.
Our business is vastly seasonal so that is always a challenge. Alongside with hurricanes, power surges, and staff shortages.. there’s always something!
Please tell us about your company.
We are a full-service, off-premise catering company serving all of South Florida. We specialize in corporate events and weddings but we do all parties large to small; including many corporate drop-offs.
What makes us different is that we are run by chefs (both myself and owner Alan Bergman) so our food & creativity puts us over the top. We have a passion for what we do and care for the product and service we put out. Thus, giving our clients the best all around experience from the beginning of the planning process to the end of their event.
