Thanks for sharing your story with us Alyson. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Started in SoCal (San Diego) doing surf photography. Then, one of my surfer friends asked me to shoot his wedding on the cliffs of Ocean Beach at sunset. After that, I was hooked. I love the energy of weddings – everyone is happy, excited and my clients are generally having one of the happiest days of their lives. While they are having the time of their lives, it’s my job to make those moments last(but having fun at the same time). That’s what I do!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Relocating to Florida was actually pretty smooth. I am originally from Brazil, so beautiful beaches and palm trees are normal to me. I love the natural beauty of South Florida and how it attracts people like myself from all over the world. There are a lot of photographers in this area, so you have to be consistent and stay on top of the game. Always embracing the new trends and technologies and using the experience I’ve gained along the way to keep moving ahead!
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Alyson Doria Photography – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am a wedding photographer and what I like to do most is outdoor weddings and beach sessions. I have underwater cameras and can do underwater shoots as well. My daughter is 7 and is obsessed with mermaids. She has a mermaid tail and crown, so I have done mermaid shoots as well.
I am an easy going person, and that really helps with my brides. If they are stressed, I can calm them down and get them to enjoy their day. If they are worried about something with the venue or another vendor, I can help smooth things out. Wedding coordinators love me because I help make the day go easily. I am not a walking ego. It’s not about me, it’s about the bride and the happiest day of her life. I think that is what sets me apart from other photographers.
I am proud of making my clients happy. I get a lot of glowing reviews from brides and grooms who will remember me as someone who was there on the happiest day of their life and made their memories last. The photos I deliver are cherished by my clients and their families, and I am happy to be part of their lives in that special way.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I am always looking to make connections with content creators, influencers, wedding planners, wedding coordinators and venues. I want to collaborate as much as possible with other professionals.
