Meet Alan Mourad of Triangulo Construction

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alan Mourad.

Hi Alan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always been passionate about real estate development — it’s something that’s been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and later completed an MBA in Real Estate Development at FAAP in São Paulo, Brazil. Along the way, I also studied finance and real-estate law at Secovi, which is Brazil’s main organization for the real estate industry. That period gave me a strong foundation not only in the business side of development but also in understanding how regulations, investments, and urban planning come together to shape cities.

I was fortunate to serve as one of the directors for Secovi’s New Entrepreneurs group, which helped me connect with other forward-thinking professionals and learn the value of leadership early in my career. When the opportunity came to expand operations to the United States, I was the first to relocate and take on the challenge. It wasn’t easy starting from scratch in a new country, but it pushed me to grow. I worked my way up, earned my professional licenses, and built the foundation for what would become Triangulo Construction.

Today, Triangulo specializes in general contracting for both public and private projects throughout Florida. My focus has always been on combining solid technical expertise with a business-driven mindset — the same balance that first drew me to real estate. Every project is a new opportunity to create something lasting, and I’m proud of how far we’ve come. My goal is to continue building on that success and keep contributing to the growth of the communities we serve for many years to come.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not a smooth road — but I think that’s what makes the journey meaningful. Moving from Brazil to the U.S. was one of the biggest challenges of my life. I had to start from the ground up in a completely new market, learn how business worked here, build relationships, and prove myself all over again. It required a lot of persistence and adaptability.

In construction and development, nothing ever goes exactly as planned. There are always unexpected issues — whether it’s permitting delays, regulatory changes, or managing the dynamics between clients, architects, and subcontractors. Early on, I had to learn how to stay calm under pressure, make quick but calculated decisions, and turn obstacles into opportunities.

There were also personal sacrifices — long hours, limited resources, and the constant pressure of growing a business while maintaining high standards. But every challenge became a lesson that shaped how I lead Triangulo Construction today. Looking back, those hard moments were essential. They taught me the value of patience, resilience, and surrounding myself with the right team.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Triangulo Construction is a full-service general contracting company based in South Florida. We work with both public and private clients, providing complete construction solutions from pre-construction planning to project delivery. Over the years, we’ve been involved in a wide range of projects — from municipal infrastructure and commercial renovations to custom residential developments.

What really sets us apart is the way we manage projects. I come from both a business and development background, so I look at every job not just as a construction project, but as an investment that has to make sense financially, aesthetically, and operationally. We approach every detail — from permitting to finishes — with the mindset of an owner, not just a contractor.

We’ve built a reputation for being hands-on, transparent, and solution-oriented. Clients often tell us they appreciate that we’re always available, we communicate clearly, and we genuinely care about the outcome. That level of involvement is something I insist on maintaining, no matter how much we grow.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of how Triangulo has evolved. We started small, but today our name stands for reliability, precision, and professionalism. When you work with Triangulo Construction, they’re not just hiring a builder — they’re partnering with a team that’s deeply invested in quality, integrity, and the long-term success of every project.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I love most about Miami is its energy — the mix of cultures, the ambition, and the constant sense of movement. It’s a city that’s always evolving, and that’s inspiring for someone in construction and development. You can literally see the growth happening every day — new projects, new ideas, and people from all over the world bringing their vision here. It’s a place where hard work and creativity are rewarded, and that’s something I really connect with.

From a professional standpoint, Miami’s architectural diversity and the challenge of building in a coastal, highly regulated environment make the work exciting. You have to balance aesthetics, resilience, and sustainability, and that keeps us sharp.

What I like least — and I say this as someone who deeply believes in this city — is the bureaucracy that sometimes slows things down. Permitting processes can be very complex and inconsistent between municipalities, which affects project timelines and costs. I also think there’s room for improvement in long-term urban planning to support the city’s fast growth.

But overall, Miami’s opportunities far outweigh its challenges. It’s one of the most dynamic markets in the country, and I’m proud to be part of shaping its future.
