Today we’d like to introduce you to Adriana Vargas.
Adriana, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My skincare journey began after a car accident I had at age 17, where I got hit at 65mph by a drunk driver (I feel blessed to be alive today). After that accident, I was left with scars on my left side of my face. Not only did I have to deal with my scars, I also was dealing with acne. The combination of having the scars and acne led me into researching and educating myself on skin health. Little did I know that this would turn into a great passion to learn and teach others about the largest organ we have which is the skin as an Aesthetician.
I continued my skincare education by obtaining an Associates Degree In Natural Health Science by becoming a Medical Aesthetician in 2009. I had the opportunity to work at Day Spas and later I merged over to the clinical side of Aesthetics. My passion grew stronger as I started to learn how to correct the skin and my heart became overwhelmed with joy when seeing my clients full of happiness because they had learned how to control their acne. I truly enjoy correcting the skin from correcting acne, acne scarring and hyper-pigmentation just to new a few.
Education is very important to me. I come from a family of nurses ( mother and siblings) so I furthered my education by obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2016. In May of 2019, my dream came true. I took a leap of faith by finding and creating RNSKIN.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, it has not been a smooth road. Life happens, you have ups and downs. Losing my father to cancer has been the hardest life experience, but it also made me a stronger woman today. I’ve learned that each time you fall you must get up again and again. I have also learned to keep knocking on doors even though doors were closed in my face because one day someone would open. I would not be walking this journey without the support of my family and friends. I feel truly blessed because God has guided each and every step of making this dream come true. God’s timing is perfect.

What were you like growing up?
I have always been a very social person and growing up was no different. I enjoy being around people and planning social gatherings. Being outdoors is something I also truly enjoy. Anything outdoors calls my attention. I enjoy being around water and nature. One of my favorite activities to do is take walks on the beach. Lastly, I really enjoy gardening. I grew up watching my parents work in our home garden.
