We’re looking forward to introducing you to Meela Belle. Check out our conversation below.
Meela, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
I recently graduated from Liberty University with a degree in business administration. I’m very proud of this accomplishment because I faced many adversities on my journey to complete my degree including a very rough pregnancy and my home catching fire and now I have something to show for my endurance.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Absolutely, I’m Meela Belle, The Mentality Coach. I wear a few different hats—author, certified life and empowerment coach, Executive assistant and recent Business Administration college graduate. My journey hasn’t been easy. A few years ago, I faced a season of depression and loss where it felt like everything had fallen apart. But I rebuilt myself by standing on God’s word, leaning on faith, and believing there was still purpose in my pain.
That experience inspired me to mentor young girls at my local juvenile detention center, helping them see their worth and potential. It also led me to write and self-publish my faith-based book, How to Beat the Odds. Now, I’m working on expanding my brand with my book as the foundation—hoping to reach, save, and transform as many lives as I’m assigned to.
In addition to my coaching and writing, I’ve stepped into the world of virtual executive assistance, supporting entrepreneurs and small business owners with streamlining their operations so they can focus on growth. What makes my work unique is the blend of real-life experience, business knowledge, and faith-based principles I bring to every project.
Right now, my mission is bigger than me—it’s about using my story, skills, and platforms to empower others to rebuild, thrive, and walk boldly in their purpose.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
Believe it or not, I’ve only recently experienced that feeling. The day my book went live, I felt completely unstoppable. Not because I had become a published author, but because I wasn’t supposed to make it out of depression. I wasn’t supposed to rise above—the odds were stacked so high against me that it seemed impossible to survive, let alone help transform the lives of others. But in that moment, I realized there was nothing off-limits for me. I could accomplish anything I truly believed I could.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Oh gosh, was there? Let me take you back to October 2022—a moment when I completely gave up. Living no longer seemed worth anything. I felt empty, saw nothing, and cared for very little. In a moment of darkness, I made the choice to try and end the purposeful life God had planned for me.
But what happened next changed everything. God gave me a second chance—a chance so many don’t get. That moment of despair turned into one of empowerment, renewal, and being truly seen. I went from feeling empty to feeling fulfilled because God wasn’t done with me yet.
If you’re reading this and you’ve ever felt that way—or maybe you feel it right now—please know this: giving up gets you nowhere. It might feel like the only option, but holding on gives you possibility. It gives you the chance for things to turn around—and trust me when I say, they will.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My family. When I say, “my family,” I’m not just talking about my aunts, uncles, cousins, or even my children. I’m talking about every person God has assigned to me—people connected to my story, my purpose, and my calling. They are my family, even the ones I haven’t met yet. People matter to me. Changing lives for the better, bringing true joy into others’ lives—that’s what they would say matters most to me, because it truly does.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people tell my story. I hope they tell a story of pain and brokenness that was transformed into power and purpose. I hope they speak of the many lives I’ve touched and the people I’ve been able to help. I want my story to be one of honesty and realness—of someone who trusted God even in the hardest moments and who walked beside those who felt like they had no one.
