Life & Work with Zoe Cassell of Fort Lauderdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zoe Cassell

Hi Zoe, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Growing up, I was always captivated by fashion—its ability to express identity and tell a story. This passion led me to study Fashion Marketing and Design in university, where I immersed myself in understanding the intricacies of style, branding, and consumer behavior.

My path took an exciting turn when I had the incredible opportunity to work in Bangladesh at Beximco Textiles, one of the largest conglomerates in the country. This experience was transformative, allowing me to see the global fashion industry from a unique perspective and understand the complexities of production and international markets.

After returning from Bangladesh, I ventured into account management. Managing multi-million dollar accounts, I honed my skills in building strong relationships and driving growth. I worked with diverse clients, from Fortune 500 companies to local businesses, learning the art of communication and the importance of genuinely understanding and meeting client needs. These experiences taught me the value of empathy and connection, principles I carry with me in all my endeavors.

Motherhood brought a new dimension to my life, sparking the inception of my mommy blog. I wanted to share my journey, my challenges, and my joys with other parents. This venture naturally evolved into User Generated Content (UGC) creation, where I could blend my professional acumen with personal passion. Creating relatable and authentic content for brands allows me to connect with audiences on a deeper level, making their experiences more enriching.

Each role complements the other; the creativity and authenticity I bring to my content creation make me a better account manager, and my strategic business mindset enhances the quality and impact of my content.

In every step of my journey, the ability to connect with people, understand their stories, and help them achieve their goals has been my driving force. Whether it’s crafting a compelling brand narrative or developing a strategic partnership, I thrive on turning challenges into opportunities and building genuine, lasting relationships.

I’m excited about what the future holds and always eager to connect with like-minded individuals and brands to create something remarkable together. Let’s turn our passions into impactful stories and meaningful connections.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My journey has been anything but smooth, yet each challenge has shaped who I am today. I’ve had to navigate two significant layoffs, which were not just professional setbacks but also deeply personal ones. These moments taught me resilience and the importance of continually adapting and reinventing myself.

Moving out of the country to Bangladesh for work was another monumental challenge. While the experience at Beximco was invaluable, it required me to step out of my comfort zone, adapt to a completely different culture, and navigate the complexities of living and working abroad. This experience fueled my passion for travel and broadened my perspective. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of visiting over 20 countries, each journey enriching my understanding of the world and the diverse tapestry of human experience.

Balancing my career ambitions with motherhood has been another significant challenge. Managing my time effectively and ensuring I am present for my son while pursuing my professional goals has required a great deal of discipline and support. However, this journey has also been incredibly rewarding, providing me with fresh insights and a deeper sense of purpose.

Through all these challenges, my ability to connect with people and build strong relationships has been my anchor. Whether in professional settings or personal interactions, understanding and empathizing with others have helped me turn obstacles into opportunities. These experiences have taught me that every setback is a setup for a comeback, and each challenge is an opportunity to grow and evolve.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
In my role as a UGC creator, I specialize in crafting genuine, relatable content that resonates with audiences and aligns seamlessly with brand values. My background in fashion marketing and design gives me a unique perspective on visual storytelling, enabling me to create visually appealing and emotionally engaging content. My mommy blog, which started as a personal project, has become a platform where I share my journey, experiences, and insights as a mother, connecting with other parents and building a supportive community.

What I’m most proud of is my ability to build strong, meaningful relationships. Whether it’s with brands, clients, or my blog audience, I strive to understand their needs and create content or solutions that genuinely resonate with them. This focus on empathy and connection is what I believe sets me apart from others.

Ultimately, my work is driven by a passion for storytelling and a commitment to building genuine connections. Whether through creating engaging content or developing strategic partnerships, I aim to make a positive impact and inspire others. I’m excited about the future and the endless possibilities it holds, always eager to connect with like-minded individuals and brands to create something extraordinary together.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
For those who are just starting out, my biggest piece of advice is to embrace the journey and not be afraid to take risks. When I first began, I struggled with imposter syndrome and the pressure to be perfect. I felt like I needed to have everything figured out before taking the next step, which often held me back.

One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is that perfection is an illusion. Waiting for the perfect moment or the perfect set of circumstances can lead to missed opportunities. Instead, just go for it. Start where you are with what you have, and learn and grow along the way. Progress often comes from taking that first, sometimes imperfect step.

Remember, if you never ask, the answer is always no. Whether it’s reaching out to a potential collaborator, applying for a new role, or pitching your ideas, don’t hesitate to put yourself out there. The worst that can happen is you hear no, but even that can be a learning experience that brings you closer to your goals.

Looking back, I wish I had been more confident in my abilities and more willing to take risks early on.
