Hi Valentina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey began while studying Public Relations at the University of Miami. Eager to gain real-world experience, I pursued internships whenever possible, which ultimately led to a full-time role with Braman Rolls-Royce. There, I managed VIP guest relations, coordinated exclusive events, and executed luxury brand activations for high-net-worth clientele. It was through this experience that I discovered my passion for creating elevated experiences, bringing people together, and fostering meaningful connections through events.
Today, I serve as the Director of Events at Flex, the financial platform empowering ambitious founders. In this role, I lead strategic event programming across both domestic and international markets, producing high-impact conferences, executive gatherings, and large-scale brand activations that bring together founders, investors, and industry leaders.
Alongside my corporate career, I founded VIP MIAMI, a premier staffing and events agency that provides professional event staff, promotional models, bartenders, servers, and brand ambassadors for conferences, luxury events, and experiential activations throughout Miami and beyond. Building VIP MIAMI has allowed me to combine my entrepreneurial spirit with my passion for hospitality, helping brands and clients bring exceptional events to life.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Nothing worthwhile is ever easy. Being an entrepreneur requires resilience, adaptability, and courage.
That said, I believe the most valuable growth comes from navigating those difficult moments. Every challenge has taught me something new, strengthened my problem-solving skills, and helped shape both my career and my approach to leadership. Looking back, those obstacles were often the greatest opportunities for growth.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As Director of Events at Flex, I lead large-scale brand activations focusing on creating experiences that foster community, build meaningful relationships, and drive business growth.
One of the projects I am most proud of is our annual Art Basel event in Miami. Each year, we host an exclusive event that has become one of the most sought-after invitations of the week. The event brings together celebrities, founders, business leaders, and all of Miami’s elite for a truly memorable experience. Over the years, I have played a key role in managing guest relations, event operations, and the countless moving parts required to execute an event of that scale, making it one of the most rewarding projects of my career.
What sets me apart is my ability to remain calm and solution-oriented under pressure. In the events industry, unexpected challenges are inevitable. Whether it’s managing thousands of guests at the door, coordinating my team of hostesses, handling last-minute changes, or ensuring a seamless guest experience, I’ve learned how to navigate complex situations while maintaining professionalism.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories comes from kindergarten, when our class was asked to draw a self-portrait and write what we wanted to be when we grew up. I always knew what I wanted to do, I wanted to be a singer. Many of my classmates weren’t sure what they wanted to do, so I suggested they could work for me instead. By the end of the day, several of them had written, “I want to be Valentina’s assistant.”
Looking back, it’s a funny memory because it feels surprisingly fitting. Today, I manage event teams and staffing for a living, so in a way it might have been an early sign of my entrepreneurial spirit and leadership tendencies. It’s a story my family still laughs about, and one that reminds me how important it is to dream big from a young age.
