Life & Work with Stacy Pamphile

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacy Pamphile.

STACY PAMPHILE

Hi Stacy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I’ve always loved experimenting with different foods and desserts. I would often take my desserts to various gatherings and always received loads of praise for them. My best friend pushed me to start selling my desserts officially. I intended to sell various desserts, not custom celebration cakes.

Again, my best friend convinced me to give it a try, so I offered to make a Blippi birthday cake for another friend’s son. Believe it or not, I loathed the process of decorating that cake and vowed never to make another again. I guess I’m my own worst critic because the guests at the birthday party loved the cake and even asked for my contact info to place their orders. I have since specialized in only making custom cakes.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I consider myself to be more pragmatic than optimistic. I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing, but I’ve found there are downsides to it. I dream within reason. I “think inside the box,” as some would say. I imagined my life would go the typical trajectory of college, decent 9-5, etc. I never imagined I would be on this not-so-ordinary path. I attribute this all to the support, both emotional and financial, that I have received from my friends and family.

My biggest supporters have been my best friend and my cousin. My best friend’s wealth of optimism has allowed me to say “yes” way more than I say “no” to trying something new; and the marketing support I have been receiving from my cousin, who has already gone viral with her business, has maintained my faith that I can succeed in this new venture. I am overwhelmed by my friends and family’s commitment to helping me succeed.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a full-time behavior analyst. I have been working with individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder for almost 10 years.

I love my job, and I’m proud of what I do and how far I have come in the field. Balancing both my career and my new-found hobby-turned-lifestyle has been quite the challenge, but I would love to merge my two passions someday.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I am keeping an open mind with what I want for my baking career. Some of my goals include opening a bakery, teaching baking classes to those who just want to give it a shot, and shipping some of my products nationwide.
