Today we’d like to introduce you to Priscilla Rojas.
Hi Priscilla, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story began in Venezuela, where I discovered my passion for storytelling and the power of audiovisual media at an early age. I studied Media Communications at Universidad Central de Venezuela and began working in television and film while I was still building my career. What started as a passion quickly became a profession, and over the years I had the opportunity to work on productions ranging from television and commercials to films, documentaries, music videos, and live events.
In 2014, I moved to the United States to continue developing my career and pursued an MFA in Film Production at Full Sail University in Orlando. Moving to a new country and rebuilding my professional network from the ground up was challenging, but it also pushed me to become more resilient, adaptable, and determined.
Throughout my career, I have worked on productions for major brands and entertainment companies, including Universal Film, Disney, Hulu, Adidas, Walmart, Lowe’s, Ipanema, Calvin Klein, Budweiser, Fanatics, Carnival Cruises, BGH, Hyundai, and network such as Telemundo Deportes and NBC Sports, as well as feature films such as Bad Boys for Life and Bad Boys: Ride or Die. One of the most meaningful parts of my journey has been working in sports television, including FIFA World Cup productions, which led to two National Sports Emmy Awards.
Today, after more than 17 years in the industry, I see myself not only as a filmmaker and producer, but as a storyteller, leader, and creative problem-solver. My experience has taught me that success in this industry is not only about talent, it is about perseverance, relationships, preparation, and being willing to start over when necessary.
I am proud of how far I have come, but I am even more excited about what is ahead. I continue to create, produce and develop new projects, always looking for ways to use storytelling to connect people, create opportunities, and bring meaningful ideas to life.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. As a woman and a filmmaker who started at a young age, I often had to prove myself and demonstrate that I was capable of doing every job and handling every challenge that came my way. There were times when I felt I had to work twice as hard to earn the same level of respect and trust.
The film and television industry can be very demanding, and building a career as a woman in a male-dominated environment came with its own challenges. I learned early on that I couldn’t let other people’s doubts define me. Instead, I focused on learning, gaining experience, showing up prepared, and letting my work speak for itself.
Those challenges ultimately made me stronger. They taught me resilience, confidence, leadership, and the importance of believing in myself, even when I was the only person in the room who did.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My work is primarily focused on production. I have worked as a Producer, Production Coordinator, or Director across documentaries, branded content, commercials, television shows, films, and corporate events. I enjoy being the person who can take a project from an idea and help turn it into something real, managing all the moving pieces that make a production successful.
As a producer, I specialize in logistics, hiring crew and talent, budgets, scheduling, locations, permits, coordinating vendors, and overall production operations. I am comfortable working behind the scenes to make sure everyone has what they need to do their job and that the creative vision can be achieved within the available time and resources. I also enjoy working directly with clients, talent, directors, and crew, because I believe that strong communication and being well-prepared before the shoot are two of the most important elements of a successful production.
What I am most proud of is that I have never given up. Throughout my career, I have had to prove my skills and my value many times, especially as a woman who started working in the industry at a young age by assisting others. Instead of allowing those challenges to stop me, I used them as motivation to keep learning, take on more responsibility, and show through my work what I am capable of doing.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned throughout my journey is to keep moving forward, even when things don’t go as planned. There have been many moments when I didn’t know how to do something or didn’t have all the answers, but I learned to figure it out as quickly as possible. I believe that being willing to learn, adapt, and find solutions is just as important as experience.
I’ve learned that you don’t have to know everything from the beginning. What matters is having the determination to learn, the courage to take on new challenges, and the commitment to achieve your goals. Every challenge has been an opportunity to grow, adapt and strengthen my skills. That mindset has helped me get to where I am today, working primarily as a commercial, brand content, and events producer and continuously taking on new opportunities to grow in the entertainment industry. I am also proud to build and grow my company, Alpha Entertainment Services, alongside my sister, Linda Rojas; combining our skills and passion to create new opportunities and bring projects to life in the United States.
