Life & Work with Occolt Station of Miami, FL

Today we’d like to introduce you to Occolt Station

Hi OCCOLT , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
From the depths of Miami’s underbelly, OCCOLT STATION was born. Our mission is to create high quality documentary style videos for the masses. We take to the streets to show you what others wont. A child birthed from a high-creativity Father, and a soft spiritual Mother. OCCOLT STATION puts a much needed spotlight on Miami’s cultural fountain, to gather the rings and coins that were long lost in the crawling urban waters.

The two hosts, OCCO & MOMENT, started with just one camera, a cheap microphone, and a will to dominate at all times. Before dedicating their lives to this project the two were stuck in dead end careers. OCCO was a mortician’s assistant, while MOMENT was a reptilian analyst at a community college. Drawing influence from the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Louis Theroux, WorldStar HipHop, NoCapOnGod, late night “Friends” re-runs while editing, and Hannah Gadsby, to create a modern, visionary, classical approach.

A light in the dark, and a shadow in the sun is their motto. OCCOLT STATION lives by the artist axiom of “YES!” Words like “no…” or “don’t…” and “stop…” don’t resonate with their philosophy or the brand. When the two hosts are out on a video shoot interviewing strangers, the louder the silence, the clearer the noise becomes.

At the valley where they stand, they look down and towards future potential paths. Anything goes in the dark underbelly of Miami, and OCCOLT STATION is there to capture it all.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We’ve faced many obstacles. There are always unpredictable scenarios we find ourselves in when doing video shoots. For example, our equipment failing on us on the job, strange encounters with people of the night, getting hounded by Communists in Chicago, and some of our employees falling victim to A.I. women on the internet. No matter the challenge, like our great Latino ancestors used to say, “keep that cheese melted in your front pocket, the village will thank you.”

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We see ourselves as visionaries in our field. We specialize in high-quality documentarism with a focus on culture and politics. We are most proud of our Latino heritage which is safe guarded by President Joe Biden and our lovely Vice President Kamala Harris. We believe that what sets us apart is what makes all our competition the same. No matter what, we believe that our strength lies not in defence but in the attack.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Our philosophy is that happiness is for our women and our children. As two adult men, our purpose in life is to carry the load of life’s misery until it bursts happiness onto others who need it most.
