Today we’d like to introduce you to Nadine Zyman.
Hi Nadine, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m originally from Venezuela and currently live in Miami, where I’m raising my two children while building a career in endurance sports and coaching.
Sports have always been part of my life, but triathlon became much more than a hobby. It became a way to challenge myself, rebuild confidence, and discover what I was capable of both physically and mentally. Over the years, that journey led me to compete at the highest amateur level in Ironman, qualify for the Ironman World Championship in Kona, and become one of the top-ranked age-group athletes in the world.
My path hasn’t been linear. Like many people, I’ve faced setbacks, financial challenges, injuries, and the realities of balancing motherhood, work, and training. Earlier this year, I suffered a pelvic fracture after being hit by a car while cycling. The experience reminded me how quickly everything can change and how important resilience really is.
Today, I continue to race, coach athletes, and share my journey openly. My goal is not just to perform at a high level, but to show others that extraordinary goals are possible even when life is far from perfect. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that growth happens when you keep moving forward, one day at a time, regardless of the obstacles in front of you.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I’ve learned to see challenges as part of the process rather than something that stops me.
Balancing being a single mom of two while training and competing at a high level has been one of the biggest challenges. There’s no off switch — I have responsibilities, financial pressure, and real-life situations that don’t pause just because I have a race coming up.
Earlier this year, I was hit by a car while cycling and suffered a pelvic fracture. Being forced to stop, recover, and rebuild tested me in ways I never expected. It was a reminder that progress is never guaranteed and that resilience is often built during the hardest moments.
There have also been times when I questioned everything, felt overwhelmed, and had to find strength on my own. But those moments are what shaped me the most. They taught me discipline, patience, and confidence in myself even when things around me felt uncertain.
At the end of the day, those challenges didn’t break me — they built me. They made me stronger not only as an athlete, but as a person and as a mother. Looking back, I’m proud not because everything went perfectly, but because I kept moving forward no matter what was in front of me.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a high-performance Ironman athlete, coach, and content creator, and my work lives at the intersection of performance, discipline, and real life.
I specialize in endurance training and helping people push beyond what they think they’re capable of, both physically and mentally. But beyond that, I share my journey openly — the training, the racing, the balance of being a single mom, and everything that comes with building this lifestyle from the ground up.
What I’m known for is my consistency, my mindset, and my authenticity. I don’t believe in showing a perfect version of the process — I believe in showing what it really takes, while still finding joy in it.
What I’m most proud of is not just competing at a high level, but doing it while raising my kids and building everything on my own. That, to me, is the real achievement.
What sets me apart is that I don’t separate performance from life — I live it fully. My story is not just about results, it’s about resilience, discipline, and choosing to move forward no matter what.
How do you think about happiness?
Happiness, for me, comes from growth.
Of course, my children are one of the greatest joys in my life, and being their mom is something I’m deeply grateful for. But I’ve also learned the importance of continuing to grow as a woman and as a person while raising them.
There was a time in my life when I felt like I had lost everything and had to rebuild from the ground up. Going through that process taught me that I’m stronger than I ever imagined, and today I no longer live with the same fear of starting over.
Sports have played a huge role in that journey. They constantly challenge the limits I place on myself and push me to become a better version of who I am, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. Through sports, I’ve built friendships, found community, and met people who have had a meaningful impact on my life.
One of the most rewarding parts of what I do is being able to inspire and help others. Whether it’s through coaching, sharing my experiences, or simply showing what’s possible through consistency and resilience, being able to give a piece of myself to others brings me a tremendous amount of fulfillment.
For me, happiness is not about perfection. It’s about continuing to grow, continuing to learn, and building a life that feels meaningful and authentic.
