Today we’d like to introduce you to Nadege Charles
Hi Nadege, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
For as long as I can remember, even as a young child, I was always the one helping my mom and family set up for gatherings and parties—celebrations were a big deal for us. As I got older, my passion for curating experiences grew. In high school, I was deeply involved in my church, organizing events and activities, which was when I truly began tapping into my creativity, purpose, and passion.
Fashion was also a major part of my life during that time, and my first business venture was actually in the fashion industry with my clothing brand. In 2017, I planned my own wedding—not because I had to, but because it was second nature to me. It was the perfect opportunity to merge my love for fashion and design into creating my big day. My wedding went viral, and people kept encouraging me to step into the planning industry. But since my clothing line was just taking off, I chose to focus on that.
Then COVID hit. Like many others, my business took a major hit, and I had to pivot. During that time, people started looking for intimate ways to celebrate, and before I knew it, I was booked and busy planning events. I started sharing my work on my personal social media stories, and without realizing it, I had launched another business. Looking back, I believe this dream came back around in a way that didn’t allow me to overthink or second-guess it—it simply chose me. Everything happened exactly how and when it was supposed to. And I embraced it wholeheartedly.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Running a business comes with its fair share of challenges. There’s no such thing as a smooth road in entrepreneurship—cliché as it sounds, it’s truly not for the weak. Pivoting was especially tough because the planning industry is so much more complex than it seems. From creating content and engaging with potential clients to networking and building meaningful relationships, there’s a lot of behind-the-scenes work required to grow a brand. Also, staying consistent even when I’m unsure or don’t see immediate results is key. Continuously showing up for my business and giving it my all can be challenging at times, but it’s necessary for growth.
Early on, I realized that without a team to help delegate the workload, burnout was inevitable. As much as I love having control over every aspect, I’m learning to find peace in trusting the process and the people around me to help execute seamless productions, time and time again.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?

I’m incredibly proud of my journey as an entrepreneur. Now, in year six, I can confidently say that while this path is demanding, it is, without a doubt, my true calling. The work of my peers inspires me to keep striving for excellence, and I embrace every opportunity to refine and elevate my craft. Every partnership is a new opportunity to fall in love with my passion all over again!
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned on this journey is that I’m not for everyone—and that’s okay! My focus is on creating quality work that truly reflects who I am and means something to my soul so that the right people can find me, trust me, value me, and collaborate with me. At the end of the day, it’s a partnership, and it has to align in a way that makes sense for both sides.
