Life & Work with Moise Simbert of Miami

Today we’d like to introduce you to Moise Simbert.

Moise, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Moise Simbert, known to the world as CooL Spitta Moe, is a Miami-based recording artist, actor, and cultural strategist who operates at the intersection of music, visual culture, and movement. Rooted in the energy of the Haitian diaspora and shaped by the vibrant mosaic of South Florida, Moise has built a body of work that blurs the line between art form and cultural statement.

As the founder of CooL Musik LLC, he is more than a musician; he is a movement architect, crafting every release, visual, and performance with intention. His catalog spans hard-hitting anthems and Afrobeat-infused grooves, all unified by an unwavering commitment to Black excellence, creative freedom, and authentic storytelling. On screen, Moise brings that same presence to his acting work, appearing in Smiling with a Stranger, a credit that speaks to his range across disciplines.

In an era where artists are pressured to choose a lane, Moise Simbert chooses all of them and makes them converge.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not even close but I wouldn’t trade it.
Building CooL Musik LLC completely independent means I wear every hat. Artist, CEO, marketer, accountant all of it. There’s no label machine behind me. Every stream, every placement, every opportunity was fought for.

The music industry doesn’t hand anything to a Black independent artist from Miami who refuses to sound like everybody else. Staying true to my sound, blending hip-hop, Afrobeat, conscious rap rooted in my Haitian heritage, while the algorithm rewards whatever’s trending? That’s a daily battle.

Then, as Moise Simbert, the struggle is different. When you move across music, acting, and entrepreneurship, the world keeps asking you to choose one. The industry loves boxes. I don’t fit in one. And early on, that costs you doors.
But here’s what the struggle taught me: nobody was coming to save it, so I had to build it. and link up with those who are like-minded. That’s the whole meaning behind Black Man Build. That’s what CooL Musik LLC is. That’s what every single one I’ve dropped since 2020 represents.
The road wasn’t smooth. But I’m still on it, and I’m just getting started.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
When you’re just starting, don’t wait to feel ready. Ready is a myth people hide behind when they’re scared to be seen. Start where you are with what you have and let the work shape you in real time.
I wish I had known earlier that consistency matters more than perfection. A lot of people get stuck trying to make their first move their best move. That’s not how growth works. Your first version is supposed to be raw. It’s supposed to be a little off. That’s where the truth lives.

Also, protect your vision, but stay open to evolution. The things you think you want at the beginning might not be what you actually need. Every room, every conversation, every failure is refining you. Let it.
From the organizing side of me build with people, not just for people. Community isn’t something you tap into when you need support. It’s something you invest in daily. Relationships will carry you further than talent alone ever could.
From the artist in me, don’t dilute your voice trying to fit into spaces that were never built for you. Your authenticity is the whole point. The world doesn’t need another copy; it needs clarity, it needs truth, it needs you as you are.
And one more thing I wish I understood earlier: rest is part of the work. You don’t have to burn yourself out to prove you’re committed. Longevity is power.

So start. Stay grounded. Keep showing up. And trust that who you’re becoming is already in motion, even on the days it doesn’t feel like it.
