Life & Work with Marli of Miami / South Florida

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marli.

Hi Marli, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started as a child, in the walls and old papers inside of a family full of dreams and questions kind of “How I will educate my kids in this crease world?”, in a humble place of São Paulo/Brasil.
I always had my “humanitarian point of view ” of the world and the question in my mind: – What could I do to leave this world better for everybody.?
So, when the news in the television were disappointed I tried to “change the World” with colors , good vibes and the ingenuity of a child, the answers come always with a pencil in a piece of paper and the hope to be one day a hero that could save people…. (with colors and forms and a legit transformative soul) this way the world in my mind could be changed and better for all !!!
Today I’m 61, and believe my point of view still the same… How could I leave the world a better world?
So in my artworks I still use vibrant colors that mean in my
mind, happiness, joy, love and an integrative world where all people respect and understand the next and they values, cultures and point of views… Can be a utopia, but my mind still a “child mind” full off justice, and good wishes to all.
Today my interest in Social and community Projects evolve in exhibits in local Libraries, where the community can absorbs my message of “Togheter we are one”, The last exhibit finished in June 30, In Southwest Branch of Broward reach families, local people and students!
I know, today that I can”t change the World, but we can leave in a better one!
This way I answer my parents question:
The world continue crease, the kids ingenuity continue, only the educated adult can help with culture, alignment and persistence!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
A road to knowledge never will be smooth, principally if the objective is grow and understand why there are people suffering in all corner of the world ! it is very complicated be happy this way! Different cultures, point of views, language or in the same country different structures building in opposites paths! One of my struggles was the difficult times in jobs and the problematic Political situation in my loved country ! That never gave me the security to be a a hundred percent and successfully professional!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My creative process, how told before, always was natural in the tentative of answer question from my impression of the World. Today the color are much more than visual decoration! The colors talk by selves transmitting emotions and beautiful solutions! Each felling correlate one color that correlate one behavior that correlate one decision!
Im mix-media artist, and my mark are “mosaics” created by acrylic painted in canvas, that are small squares painted one by one that symbolizes the old – again “Together we are one” and I think the people can recognize my art when they see the mosaics and colors that help the full idea in the canvas !
I’m very proud of my art, my family and the person that I’m today because my experiences was full of strength and the art , more than colors, always was my best friend in easy and difficult time!
For example, almost three years ago, after My daughter’s hospitalization for a deep depression, we start a Project : ” The Amazing Hearts”, that’s was 165 anatomical hearts painted one by one in 8 x 10 canvas for her and myself, in observation time. In this moment, art was our mental support and Art Therapy our first aid in home! (today the project is united in 5 panels for better transportation) and we are exhibit it in all places that we can do it!

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
My advise is don’t lose time with small things or bad persons, they never will be in your shoes and never will complete your life!
I found mentors in God, good books and in the dignified people that I found on my way (maybe they don’t know how they had influenced my life but I’m very thankful )
The experience of people in need , social problems, good friends, brothers, husband, and all family worked as a base of what I’m today!
