Life & Work with Marian Rojas of Miami

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marian Rojas

Hi Marian, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey began nearly 25 years ago when I was born in Guatemala. I grew up with two sisters, one 22 and another 8 years old. At 24, I married my best friend after 8 years together, and we relocated to Miami. From a young age, I was inspired by my parents, who started a construction and interior decorating business together while they were still dating. My mother, in particular, set a powerful example of hard work and dedication.

If I had to describe myself in one word, it would be “multi-passionate.” But to understand why, we need to rewind a bit. After graduating high school, I was unsure of exactly what I wanted to do, but the real challenge was that I wanted to do everything. I have always had a diverse range of interests, including art, photography, fashion design, and more, which made choosing a career path difficult.

I spent a year studying art in London, where I learned so much, especially about enjoying my own company and discovering myself. I then moved to Madrid to study interior design, a city that stole my heart and offered invaluable experiences and connections. When the pandemic hit, I returned to Guatemala “for two weeks” as we faced the uncertainty of lockdowns. During that time, I thought of something that could keep us connected despite the physical separation, and the answer was clear: memories.

A photograph that captures a moment and turns it into a lifelong memory became the inspiration for Vipic—my company, my baby. Observing my mother’s dedication to her business during those challenging times, I couldn’t sit by. I created an Instagram account and started the concept of “Frame Your Memories,” printing and framing photos in my living room. I handled marketing, logistics, printing, framing, packaging, and even delivery. Slowly but surely, Vipic grew, and I partnered with my sister and mother, alongside a dedicated team, to develop it into what it is today.

As things evolved, I delved into marketing studies and took several additional courses. I returned to London for a Food Styling and Photography course and pursued studies in sculpture, digital management, social media, and more.

After moving to Miami, I began creating content on social media because it has always been a passion of mine. My goal was to share not a picture-perfect life, but a real and authentic one. I wanted to offer a genuine glimpse into my experiences, showcasing the ups and downs and connecting with others on a more personal and insppiring level. Through my content, I hope to inspire and resonate with people by embracing the beauty of imperfection and the authenticity of everyday life. I often discuss my experience as a Multi-pasional woman, a trait I once viewed as a flaw but now embrace as a unique aspect of my identity. It warms my heart to see how people resonate with the concept of being multi-passionate.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As I mentioned earlier, I lived in two different countries outside of Guatemala before getting married. However, I have to be very honest and say that one of the most challenging steps I’ve had to take has been moving to Miami after getting married. The inability to leave the U.S. due to immigration processes and being separated from my family and friends has been incredibly difficult. Although Miami is relatively closer to Guatemala compared to the places I lived before, not being able to return when I want has been hard. I feel sad about missing important moments with the people I love, but I know this is just a temporary situation and it’s worth it. I try to see everything as positively as possible, I see it as a blessing from God to have the opportunity to be here.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I decided to start creating content on my social media because I wanted to contribute something meaningful. We live in a world saturated with social media where it’s often hard to compare ourselves because what we see online appears “perfect” and, at the same time, unrealistic. When I began this journey, I made a promise to myself: to be authentic. I aim to share real, rather than perfect, content. What does this mean? Life is meant to be lived, and I want to show it in the most genuine way possible. I don’t want to present a perfect life but a real one. You’ll see me cry, lose inspiration, and struggle with consistency, but you’ll also see me enjoying, learning, and sharing. I’ve stopped taking life so seriously and focused on living it. Life is about balance—there will be Fridays when I’m reading a book by candlelight and others when I’m out partying with friends. You’ll see me eating a salad and also enjoying a burger because that’s what balance is about.

My purpose is to remind people that life is meant to be lived and to live it as humanly and authentically as possible. I believe it’s crucial to embrace life with all its imperfections and genuine moments. By sharing my own experiences—both the joyful and the challenging—I aim to inspire others to live openly and truthfully. Life is not about adhering to an idealized image but about finding balance, enjoying real moments, and connecting with others in meaningful ways. My goal is to encourage everyone to appreciate the beauty in their unique, imperfect journey and to celebrate life as it truly is.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
COVID-19 taught me the greatest lesson of all: one day we’re here, and the next, we don’t know. It made me value my life and those around me even more. We often think that such things happen to others but not to us, yet the reality is that we are all equally vulnerable. Looking back, I am startled by how quickly everything has changed. To understand this feeling, look at your photos and see how fast time has passed. In what feels like the blink of an eye, I found myself graduated, married, and living in another country. What does this teach us? To make the most of life because one day we’re here and the next, we don’t know.

It’s a privilege from God to be alive, to have health, to walk, and to breathe. Yes, saying it is easy, but we’re human and I understand there are tough days when it’s harder to stay positive. Yet, no matter how harsh the reality or how much fear it brings, neither I nor anyone else is eternal. This isn’t meant to make us sad but to remind us that it’s not about waiting for tomorrow; it’s about living NOW because life passes in a second.

Let’s not waste time on meaningless fights or get caught up in small things. Life is too short to pay attention on the insignificant. Give that hug, say what you’ve been holding back, call that person you haven’t reached out to, and so on. Seriously, let’s make the most of our lives and cherish the people in it!
