Today we’d like to introduce you to Liliana Casillas.
Hi Liliana, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Well, it all started about five years ago at key biscayne Farmers Market my husband was making Guacamole to put it on pizza for lunch. So one day a lady ask him to if she can try it he said yes the lady fell in love with the Guac and ask my husband if he can have it ready for her every Saturday he said yes the following week she came back with three other friends. So now he had to make for small guacamole, so then I told his mom to buy us three boxes then we went from three boxes to five boxes then we went from five boxes to 10 boxes to 32 boxes in two days before pandemic. And we also just start off with one little batch of Barbacoa tacos it’s beef cooked over eight hours with banana leaf and then the taco shop blew up after that we make alpastor tacos carnitas barbacoa chicken and steak hand made corn tortillas quesadillas.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t see it as struggles. Just lessons of life and to keep working hard, nothing is giving to you. You have to make it happen just believe.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Well, we specialize in guacamole salsa is mango salsa and spicy salsa and everything’s made fresh right there in front of you; we don’t put no preserve. We use Haas avocados from Mexico and organic tomato from homestead and immokalee and out most famous tacos are the carnitas and barbacoa.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
That I love what I do, I love to see my customers with the happy smiling and saying how good the food is so good to guac is and it’s made with love and passion for my Mexican culture.
