Life & Work with Laura Ciurdar and Sarah Molin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Ciurdar and Sarah Molin.

Hi Laura and Sarah, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Like every other florist in the world, our passion for floral design started out as a hobby. It continued developing while helping our friends with their events/weddings. Sarah and I have always had a love for design. Our friends would always ask for our opinion or help with design/decor when planning their events. Eventually, that turned into helping with florals as well and I guess we were kind of good at it even though we had no idea what we were doing! Friends and then friends of friends started asking us to help them with floral arrangements, so with each event we learned a little more. In the meantime, I (Laura) got married, along with a couple of other girls in our family/friend group and unfortunately, we all had bad experiences with our florists. After that, we knew we had to enter this industry and be the trustworthy florists that we would have wanted to hire for our own events.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We officially started our business at the beginning of 2020, aka at the start of COVID. Not a great year to be in the event industry. As there were many challenges and restrictions during this time, to our surprise, there was still a high demand for florists. It was the year of “micro weddings” so most of the events & weddings we were doing were small and intimate but oh-so beautiful! It was a great way to ease into the industry and focus on perfecting our craft and style since we weren’t doing high-volume production yet. This really prepped us for higher scale weddings because we had our techniques down by the time restrictions were lifted and people were allowed to have larger events. We really focused on educating ourselves in floral design and building relationships with planners and other vendors that first year. Though it wasn’t a smooth year, it was definitely a year of growth.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We like to categorize our work as timeless yet current. We love keeping up with trends and are always looking to add a fresh look to our floral designs while also maintaining a romantic and timeless feel.

We specialize in organic floral design that has movement, texture, flow, softness, asymmetry, balanced, and gives you all the feels. Naturally, we lean more towards neutral tones so when we are asked to use color, we are very intentional about tones and using colors that work well together.

We are very proud of the quality of our work. Every flower is placed with intention and thought. We take our job and reputation very seriously as it is our client’s most important and special day. We go into each event with the mindset of – Today is their big day, let’s make their dreams come to life! And it is the biggest compliment and reward when our brides see their bouquets for the first time or walk into the reception space for the first time and say, “You brought our wedding floral dreams to life.” We live for it!

The fact that we are younger is something that sets us apart from others. We have a more current outlook on style and design. A lot of our brides tell us that they not only want to hire us because of our work but also because they can relate to our personality, vibe, and aesthetics. They can trust that we will understand their vision and execute it.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
