Life & Work with Kennedy Meehan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kennedy Meehan.

Hi Kennedy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill, I began freelancing due to the lack of employment opportunities in the public relations field resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. Once I recognized the gap in the market for agencies servicing small businesses, I decided to launch The Azure Agency in an effort to help small businesses grow through the power of digital marketing. I’ve taken my years of experience working with luxury brands such as Marc Jacobs Beauty and Pat McGrath Labs and strategized ways that businesses can capitalize on similar strategies on a smaller budget to expand their brand awareness and capitalize on their brand identity through digital marketing.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. I studied Strategic Communications during undergrad and had zero business experience going into entrepreneurship. Working remotely has had its challenges, as does building a team remotely. There have been many bumps along the way, from figuring out taxes to building a clientele, but I am thankful for it all. I would not feel as confident as I do in my work today if I had not had challenges in this journey.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We work with both brands and influencers in helping them establish their identity across social media platforms. We assist our e-commerce clients with social media management, paid advertising, content creation, influencer marketing, email marketing and more. On the talent management side, we are responsible for securing brand collaborations on behalf of the creators we represent, as well as serving as consultants and publicists.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
The Azure Agency also serves as a resource for college students and recent graduates to gain knowledge and hands-on experience in the Public Relations industry. We have employed over 20 undergraduate students and helped mold their crafts into ones they can feel confident in after graduation.
