Edwina, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I began my makeup journey over 10 years ago. When I first started, I never imagined it would become such a significant part of my life. My original goal was to become a beauty influencer, but along the way, I discovered a passion for artistry and fell in love with the experience of enhancing others’ beauty through makeup.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of my biggest struggles was starting my career at such a young age. As a young aspiring makeup artist, building a professional kit was challenging, especially without a job and while relying on my parents for support. Looking back, I am incredibly grateful for everything they sacrificed to help me pursue my passion. Their encouragement and belief in me played a major role in where I am today.
Another challenge I faced was learning to trust myself and my talent. For a long time, I struggled with self-doubt and often questioned whether I was good enough. Building confidence didn’t happen overnight, but through experience, consistency, and the support of my clients, I gradually learned to believe in my abilities.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a professional makeup artist specializing in full-glam makeup. I am known for creating bold, glamorous looks that make my clients feel confident, beautiful, and empowered. Whether it’s for a special event, photoshoot, or weddings. my goal is always to deliver a flawless transformation while enhancing each client’s unique beauty.
Over the years, I’ve built a reputation for being reliable, professional, and dedicated to my craft. My clients know me as the makeup artist who will show up on time, provide an exceptional experience, and “glam them down” every single time.
What I am most proud of is creating a safe and welcoming space where women can feel comfortable, confident, and beautiful. Makeup is so much more than cosmetics—it’s an experience that can boost self-esteem and help someone see themselves in a new light. Being able to provide that feeling for my clients is incredibly rewarding.
What sets me apart is my creativity and versatility. I love pushing myself artistically and creating a wide range of looks that are customized to each individual. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to beauty. Every face tells a different story, and I take pride in bringing each client’s vision to life while adding my own unique touch and artistry.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories is simply growing up surrounded by an amazing village of family and love. I was always spending time with my cousins, making memories, laughing, and enjoying the close relationships that shaped who I am today. I also loved going shopping with my mom. Some of my fondest memories are of being right by her side, fascinated by all things beauty. I was constantly sneaking into her makeup collection, especially her blush. There was one particular blush that I absolutely loved and would always find an excuse to put on my face. Looking back, it’s funny to think that those little moments were some of the first signs of the passion that would eventually turn into my career.
