Life & Work with Bridget Hough of Davie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bridget Hough.

Hi Bridget, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been a massage therapist for over 17 years. I trained at the National Holistic School of Massage Therapy in San Jose, CA.
I opened my own massage studio 3.5 years ago and it’s been the best decision I’ve ever made, only wish I had done it sooner.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely some struggles .. there were moments when I questioned whether I should be doing more to advertise or focus more on social media. I learned that personalized care is what ultimately built my business.. running a studio alone also means you wear every hat~ therapist, front desk, book keeping.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I don’t do routine, one size fits all sessions. Every treatment is individualized, and I focus on long term results rather than a temporary feel good moment. Most of my clients come from referrals because they notice how they feel days and weeks later, not just the day of the massage.

Most proud that my business grew through word of mouth. It means people felt cared for and supported enough to share their experience.

When you help someone move without pain, that’s bigger than massage~ that’s impact

I specialize in helping people suffering from autoimmune disease. Massage can help reduce the pain in the joints and muscles by reducing tension. I would say though, what I’m most known for is how I can pinpoint the exact location of what’s causing my clients pain or discomfort.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Most importantly, my success started with my foundation ~ my training at the National Holistic Institute school of massage therapy. The school shaped not just my technique, but my philosophy. They taught me that massage isn’t just about working on muscles but about understanding the whole person. The holistic approach has guided every step of my career
Because of this foundation, I’ve always focused on individualized care, real results, and building trust. My success comes from combining strong technical training with compassion, consistency, and truly listening to clients.
