Life & Work with Bianca Tijiani of Miami

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bianca Tijiani.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Absolutely. My story begins in Singapore where I was born into a richly multicultural family. My mother is Singaporean — Malay, Arab and Indian — my father is from Montgomery, Alabama, with Black, Native American, Scottish and Irish roots. My parents always emphasized the importance of education, cultural awareness and preparing me for the future, especially in business.

I went to an all-Chinese kindergarten and elementary school, where I was often bullied for being different. While it was challenging, it taught me resilience early on. It also led me to become fluent in reading, writing and speaking Mandarin by a young age. I learned Malay through my family as well which gave me the ability to navigate and connect with people across even more cultures.

At 17, I started solo traveling. My first trip was to Thailand on my own. That experience sparked a deep love for adventure, new cultures and meaningful conversations with people from all walks of life. Travel has been one of my greatest teachers and sources of inspiration ever since.

Later on, I moved to the U.S. and earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies from Florida State University. I went on to build an international modeling career, working with top agencies in Miami, Los Angeles, London and Germany while collaborating with brands like Skechers, Oribe, FILA and Jonathan Simkhai. But even as I thrived in that world, I always knew I wanted to create something of my own.

Fitness and wellness have become major pillars in my life. They keep me grounded, focused and in alignment with my goals. Now, I’m pouring my passions into building a business that reflects everything I love: culture, wellness, travel, storytelling and soulful living.

The journey hasn’t always been smooth. I’ve faced setbacks, moments of doubt, and financial pressure. But my faith, my family and my vision continue to guide me. I truly believe I was meant to create meaningful, nourishing experiences… and I’m just getting started.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not a smooth road but I think that’s what’s made the journey meaningful. On the surface, people often see the highlights: the modeling campaigns, the travel, the glamorous moments… but what they don’t see are the sacrifices, the uncertainty and the inner battles that come with choosing an unconventional path.

There were times I felt completely lost, especially during transitions like moving to a new country, navigating the modeling industry or trying to balance survival with pursuing my dreams. I’ve had financial stress, moments of deep self-doubt and phases where I questioned if I was doing enough or if I was even on the right path. And being a woman of mixed background, I’ve also had to navigate spaces where I didn’t always feel understood or represented, which pushed me to become even more rooted in who I am.

Starting my business journey has come with its own challenges: from funding to figuring things out on my own and staying motivated when the results aren’t immediate. But I’ve learned that resilience, consistency and faith are everything. Every “no” or closed door redirected me toward something better. And I wouldn’t trade those hard moments. They gave me character, perspective and fuel.
At the end of the day, I remind myself why I started: to build something meaningful, to honor where I come from and to create the kind of life that feels aligned, not just impressive.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
What I do is a reflection of who I am: a blend of cultures, experiences and passions. I’m a model, fitness trainer, entrepreneur, wellness lover and storyteller at heart. I’ve worked internationally with well-known brands and I’m represented by top agencies across Miami, Los Angeles, London and Germany. But modeling was always more than just a job for me. It was a platform that allowed me to explore the world, connect with people and build a foundation for everything I’m creating now.

I specialize in curating experiences. Whether it’s through brand collaborations, wellness content or the business I’m currently building that merges culture, nourishment and intentional living. My background allows me to see things through a very global lens. I’m passionate about creating offerings that feel soulful, meaningful and connected to both heritage and modern wellness.

What sets me apart is simple: no one has a story like mine. I was raised in Singapore by a Malay, Arab and Indian mother and a Black, Native American, Scottish and Irish father from Alabama. I went to an all-Chinese school, became fluent in Mandarin and started solo traveling at 17 before I moved to the US on my own at 18. I’ve lived between worlds — East and West — and instead of choosing one, I’ve chosen to embrace all of it.

I’m most proud of the fact that I’ve stayed true to myself. It hasn’t always been easy, but I’ve never let go of my vision even when things felt uncertain. I believe that everything I’ve lived through is part of my purpose: to create, to inspire and to build something that reflects both my roots and my dreams.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Definitely. The COVID-19 crisis taught me so much. Not just about the world, but about myself. On a personal level, it was a time of deep reflection. I had to slow down, sit with myself and reassess what really matters. As someone who was always on the go traveling, working and chasing the next thing, the stillness was uncomfortable at first. But in that stillness, I started to hear myself more clearly. One of the biggest lessons I took away was the importance of thinking for myself.

During that time, I started to question everything I was being fed by the media, by the system, by outside narratives. I realized how important it is to stay curious, to dig deeper and to not blindly accept what’s presented as truth. It woke me up in a way. I became more conscious, more intentional and more protective of my energy, my thoughts and what I choose to consume mentally, spiritually and physically.

It reminded me how important it is to be rooted in faith and to have a strong sense of self. Because when the world is uncertain and loud, you have to be able to hear your own voice above all else. That’s something I’ve carried with me since in how I make decisions, in the business I’m building and in how I move through life.
