Alison, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
After finishing dog training school, I was hired by a local training company, where I made my way to head trainer. This is where I learned how to run a professional pet business before branching out on my own. After establishing myself and developing my own niche, it was time for me to root myself as my own business.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Running your own business teaches you to handle fast curveballs- a smooth ocean never made a skilled sailor. Being able to problem solve in the moment is my brand.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
CCDT places a huge emphasis on owner education during the entire training process. While we are known for training dogs, training humans is our ultimate trick. I am the most proud of cultivating a program where committed pet owners thrive, and continue to train simply for the fun of it.
Any big plans?
We will always stay small as I care about the human experience. Consistency is part of our calling card, but more post grad options for our seasoned veterans are in the works!
