We’re looking forward to introducing you to Susan Stipcianos. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Susan, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is a normal day like for you right now?
Chop- Chop nonstop all day I get up at 6am. everyday to have some time to myself to charge and get ready for the day while I get my son’s lunchboxes, yes 2 of day ready so I can have breakfast with him in peace and set the tone of his day as well, usually out the door by 7:45am. In the office checking email by 8:25am, I like to tackle the hard stuff early in the day the long emails, the reports to get it done and have a clear mind t-fr client calls by 12 noon! from 12 to 2;45pm I take conference calls/ client calls so from 3 to the end of the day if working on up-coming projects/ travels etc…
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Susan Stipcianos is a Colombian Publicist and Miami local her experience in public relations includes being a tv producer for Univsion and also Pr Director for the coveted Miami based Publication Ocean Drive. Shortly after the she co- launched the Agency The Dream Team Agency and. Latins focus PR agency with Many clients including latin celebrities and mayos brands such as Tresemme,WSS,DSW and Victorias Secret among the clients. On her times off she is also a fashion expert on several tv shows for the latin market.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
In a professional setting we can not take anything personals, your decisions must be made thinking of what is best for your client, event if telling them something may be something they don’t want to hear. And simultaneously clients make decisions based on trends. budgets and many ofter factors so we must learn to accept and move on as well. The bond between people is broken when we do take every decision as personal. W for example. focus on the hispanic market and. some breads don’t believe in the power of the latino community and that is ok because the ones that do will have great profits by supporting the latino market.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Back when 25 yrs ago there was no someone power or mentor or an empowerment. movement, it was a very lonely place to be as a woman in the work force. I would tell my younger self to find a mentor or a group of women in the same field to support and help each other, I would also tell her not to pluck her eyebrows or die her hair!
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
In business honesty is always best, theres many ways of expressing concerns/ red flags but be honest because if we don’t speak up the client could loose money and then you loose the client.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I choose my clients based on my time and my needs. Over time ive learned no amount of money is worth the stress of red flags ignored. I always rather have less clients but ones that believe int the Hispanic market and I enjoy seeing the results.
