Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Stephany Diaz of Coral Gables

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Stephany Diaz. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Stephany, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? Have you ever been glad you didn’t act fast?
I actually love this question because the one thing I’m so grateful for when opening my business is going slow and steady. I didn’t grow, hire or expand before I was ready and because of this, I’ve been able to enjoy my growth without being strained about unmanageable investments & expenses. This is something that I frequently share with peers & students of The Plump Room Academy in order to hopefully help them avoid some very expensive and sometimes detrimental mistakes by jumping ahead before ready.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Stephany Diaz, APRN and founder of The Plump Room, a boutique medical aesthetics practice in Coral Gables. My brand blends precision injectables, advanced skin technology, and a ‘Balanced by Steph’ approach to help clients look refreshed yet natural. What makes us unique is our commitment to artistry, education, and community. From offering device-stacked treatments and virtual skincare consults to mentoring the next generation of injectors. Right now, we’re expanding our training programs and innovating new, combination-therapy protocols that deliver elevated, long-lasting results.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
During my undergrad college years, I worked at a medical supply company full time. During this time, my manager Susanne taught me so much about myself and my potential. I realized the importance of diligence and paying attention to details, what it meant to lead a team through actions and how to creatively think about solutions to problems. It was at this very job that I also learned how to have difficult conversations with peers, interview & hire, as well as present performance evaluations. I am so grateful for her instilling these leadership skills in me, as with every job afterward I always climbed up to higher positions as a result. Recently as CEO of The Plump Room, I’ve been able to build on these skills and also share them with others.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’d tell my younger self to trust her vision and stay patient. Every very risk, late night, and setback is shaping the leader and creator she’s meant to become. Her worth isn’t defined by hustle or milestones; she’s already enough. Release the need to control every detail and know that what’s truly meant for you will arrive in its own time. Your artistry, vision, and heart will create impact naturally, without forcing.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me is real. My passion for aesthetics, my commitment to my patients, and my drive to create something beautiful and elevated all come from a genuine place. But the private version of me is impulsive, energetic, and ok with not being ‘on’ all the time. Both sides are true. One is the visionary and leader building The Plump Room, and the other is the woman learning, growing, and embracing her own balance and worth outside of success.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
If I retired tomorrow, my customers would miss the way I make them feel seen, cared for, and understood. They’d miss the artistry behind every treatment, the trust we’ve built, and the signature ‘Balanced by Steph’ approach that combines precision with genuine connection. Not just the results, but the experience of feeling completely cared for and empowered in their own skin.
