MJ Delmoral shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
MJ, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
I would choose integrity. For me, it’s about staying grounded in my core values, being loyal, and doing the right thing even when no one is looking. I’ve seen how intelligence and energy can open doors, but integrity is what sustains trust and strong relationships. That’s the quality I try to carry into both my personal and professional life
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m MJ Delmoral, Creative, Director, Makeup Artist Designer, mom, wife & the heart behind the beauty brand Glam Gang Beauty and the artists Agency Glam Gang Miami. My story started with a deep love for makeup and film, and over time I’ve been able to turn that passion into a business that supports artists and productions across Miami and beyond. What makes my work unique is that it’s always personaI, I love building community, I love the relationships I have created with clients & colleagues, I love creating, I enjoy telling stories and I’m a fan of beauty & fashion. Right now, I’m focused on growing Glam Gang Beauty internationally while continuing to looking for directing opportunities and produce projects that inspire me.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that most shaped how I see myself is the one with my mom. I’ve always admired her strength and the example she set for me. Now that I’m a mother myself, my biggest goal is to be an upgraded & more powerful source of inspiration for my daughter. I want her to see through me that with discipline, passion, and love for your career, anything you dream of is possible
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Mj.. just do it, you don’t have to be perfectly ready, just start. I used to think everything needed to be lined up before taking a step, but I’ve learned that growth comes from the courage to begin, even when things aren’t perfect or “ready”
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Absolutely, what you see is what you get with me. I’m 100% myself, and I don’t like to sugarcoat things. It’s very hard for me to pretend I’m okay when I’m not, and I think my face gives me away anyway. I’ve learned to embrace that transparency because it keeps me authentic and grounded
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
I always give 200%, whether or not anyone is watching or praising me. I do it for myself, because I don’t like mediocrity. I don’t know how to give half effort. For me, excellence is about personal pride and discipline, not outside validation
