Liana, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
What I’m most proud of building, that most people don’t see, is the foundation of knowledge, research, and growth behind my brand. I was formerly known as The G&G Code and originally set out to create a makeup line, but the deeper I went into research, the more I felt called back to my true roots in skin care science. My mother has Lupus and my father has battled skin cancer on and off throughout his life, and they are the reasons I continuously strive to perfect my products so they can be safe and effective for as many people as possible. Behind the scenes, I’ve spent countless hours learning, formulating, and refining, a process of learning, unlearning, and realigning that taught me to stay grounded in what I genuinely love: creating products that care for the skin first. While the world sees the final glow, what they don’t see are the years of dedication, trial and error, and continued education it has taken to build not just a product line, but a brand rooted in beauty, wellness, and innovation, all while maintaining the skin’s integrity.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Liana Perez, and I’m a Medical Esthetician and Makeup Artist, as well as the founder of Glistening Glows, a beauty brand that merges artistry with skin care science. I began my journey years ago as The G&G Code with a focus on makeup and bringing out the beauty of others through natural artistry, but through continued education and personal experiences — including watching my mother live with Lupus and my father battle recurring skin cancer — I felt called to create something deeper. That shift led me back to my true passion: formulating luxury skincare products that not only deliver radiance but also protect and nourish the skin. What makes Glistening Glows unique is that every product is designed with integrity in mind; safe for sensitive skin, spray-tan friendly, and infused with both beauty and wellness. Right now, I’m expanding my product line and preparing for a full launch, with a vision to create a brand that empowers people to glow confidently, from the inside out.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child growing up, I felt pressured to be strictly academic, that I had to work a desk job, hold a title, or earn a degree in order to ‘be someone.’ I was often told, ‘you can’t do so many things,’ and as a person with ADHD and multiple talents, I couldn’t understand why I had to limit myself. Even in high school, I was a Chemistry and Engineering student, yet I still found ways to take Fashion and Business classes in between because I’ve always been drawn to both science and creativity. Over time, I learned the meaning of ‘you are only what you set your mind to.’ For a long time, I thought this made me scattered, but now I see it’s what makes me unique. My ability to merge different passions is the reason I thrive today as both a Medical Esthetician and Makeup Artist, and as the founder of Glistening Glows.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self that it’s okay to be exactly who she is, even if others don’t understand it. Growing up, I was bullied for being different, and as a person with ADHD, I struggled to fit into the traditional mold. I’d remind her that she doesn’t have to limit herself to just one path, that her curiosity, creativity, and drive in many directions are her strengths, and that by embracing all of who she is, she will build a life and career that’s truly her own.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m committed to building Glistening Glows into more than just a skincare brand, it’s a movement rooted in empowerment, care, and education, no matter how long it takes. When I first started my journey as The G&G Code, my focus was on creating a space where women could feel glamorous, generous, and supported — a code, a lifestyle, a movement. That mission hasn’t changed, it’s just evolved. Today, as a Medical Esthetician and Makeup Artist, I combine my expertise in skincare science with my passion for helping people feel confident in their own skin. Behind every product in my line is countless hours of research, testing, and refinement, because I want each item to be safe, effective, and empowering. My commitment is not just to create beautiful skin, but to build a brand that encourages women to uplift each other, embrace their individuality, and know that taking care of themselves is a form of empowerment. This is a lifelong project, one that grows every day, and one that I’m proud to dedicate myself to fully.

I hope people remember me as someone who lifted others up, especially those who felt different, overlooked, or unsure of themselves, the way I often did growing up. I want them to say that I used my skills as a Medical Esthetician and Makeup Artist, and my knowledge of skincare, to help people feel confident and comfortable in their own skin. More than that, I hope they remember that I created a space and a brand that encouraged kindness, generosity, and empowerment, and that I spent my life inspiring others to embrace their individuality, chase their dreams, and lift each other along the way.
