We recently had the chance to connect with Leo Montero and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Leo, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
My strength and ability to deal with emotions is something I have working on for the last couple of years. This ability and knowledge is newish. I have became more aware of myself and how my mind is so powerful.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Leonardo Montero, Venezuelan based in Miami, Florida. I am a creative artist dedicated to photography mainly, but also, make up, costume designe and crafty arts. My brand is very personal and focused on giving my clients a unique opportunity to embrace themselves to portrait their best possible through our photoshoots.
I am currently working with colleagues, collaborating on projects to expand my business. Being part of a team is something I enjoy very much, although I have been on my own for the majority of my career.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
People breaks apart when their visions and actions differ to a point where there is nothing in common. I believe people get together and stay that way when their vibes, dreams and attitudes align to reach a common purpose.
In life you will definitely have to let people go in order to keep growing. Take the example of the rocket ship releasing parts of their craft just to be able to get to space.
You could also restore relationships and bonds eventually when wounds are healed, when new boundaries are solid and respected.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would say to my younger self to not worry too much about little silly stuff. Focus on enjoying your precious family and true friends. Don’t trust so easily and keep working out because it will secure health and young looks for many years ahead.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
It is pretty much the same. Maybe the public version of myself wants to be standing straight and have nice groomed hair. In the meantime, the private version can be a little more relaxed and easy. By the way solitude time for me has worked wonders in me.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I think the appreciation for nature, the little and big wonders and works of art.
We are so blessed by just being alive, on this earth, at this time. we have it all and many people still don’t see it.
I sincerely try to think, stay and speak positively about everything instead of complaining.
