Ishika, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
My Faith, My Confidence. My Relationship with God

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Blessed with tremendous talent is Ms. Ishika Purpose who started singing at the tender age of two and commenced playing the keyboard and drums at six. She developed an intimate passion for music while sharing her talent with the world at large. She embraced every opportunity to minister to people in song even when she traveled around the world with her father. As she grew in the music arena, she learned Bass at the age of 12. She founded the band ” Ishika and SFC ( SoulJahz for Christ ). In 2010, she graduated from the Cedar International School and proceeded at Lee University from 2010 -2012, during which period she joined the school’s choir named “Evangelistic Singers”. In 2011 she achieved the position of Music Director. She gained tremendous exposure from traveling to New York, New Jersey & Boston. In 2013, Ishika launched her first CD titled ” I Got a Purpose ” and released her second CD ” Ishika Charles Project ” in 2015 both at a live concert held at the New Testament Church of God International Worship Centre in Tortola, British Virgin Islands. In June 2016 she was placed in the Top Three in a Christian-based competition ” America’ Got Anointing “. She currently serves as a Full Time Musician at Kingdom Builders Worship Center under the Leadership of Pastor Cheryl E. Powell in Florida, USA. She is now pursuing her vision to become a ” Gospel Music Artiste & Producer “.In 2019 Ishika brought out a single named “Follow Me”. Also In 2019, Ishika won three awards, the 2019 “IGGA People’s Choice Award”, the 2019 “True Worshipers Award” and the 2019 Music Love Awards Winner for the “Contemporary Artist of The Year”. In 2020 she also brought out another single entitled “You Are Great”. Later in 2020, she was also nominated and won the “International Artist of the Year” for the Gospel Choice Awards. In 2021 Ishika was nominated for the “Maranatha Awards” in the category of “Best Inspirational Worship Leader” and placed first runner up. Ishika furthered her studies at Berklee College of Music where she obtained a certificate in; Music Theory, Vocal Recording Technology, Music for Wellness, Copyright Law in the Music Business and Developing a Brand & Funding. She then continued her studies at The University of Adelaide where she received a certificate in Music Technology Foundation.

In 2024 she was considered for a Stellar Award for New Artist of the Year and Female Artist of the Year

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
My Music

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there were times I felt like giving up. Life can be overwhelming, and I had moments where I questioned if I could keep going. But instead of quitting, I reminded myself why I started and leaned on my faith/support system to keep moving forward.”

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I admire so much People for their Character and integrity.

First I admire my Dad and my Mom for Pushing to become a Better Person

I absolutely Admire my Pastors and Executive Pastors, Dr. Cheryl E Powell and Elder Samuel and Carol Phillips. I admire their Strength, their Faith in God, How much they put there’re Trust in God.

I admire the rest of my Family and Close Friends( too much to name) for pushing me and giving me great advice

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at Peace when I play music.
