Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Eric Martinez of Miami

Eric Martinez shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Eric, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
There are two reasons I’d hire myself.

As a health professional and business owner, I am expected to make them better than myself and help them avoid all of the hardships. As of now, I’ve seen and worked on almost every type of business model in my field as a Coach and health. almost 20 years of intense trial and error, workshops, licenses, and more just to be able to be successful. I’d look at my past self and just hammer the need to learn sales, marketing, processes, budget,s, and still keep up on the current peer review articles on human performance, absorb as many healthcare points of view, and still create the educational system i have for professionals in my field.

The 2nd reason would be if I had a chronic illness and I’m trying to be the best version of myself. Still, as of this day, i am still one of the few RCEP, but with a background of human performance, 13 different post-education methodologies and a strong emphazies on bio testing before starting any program

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello There!!

My name is Eric Martinez
I’m a speaker, mentor, author, entrepreneur, and an all-around normal guy trying to make a little dent in the world
I’m married to my high school sweetheart in a small town in Miami. I love it. I wouldn’t trade lives with anyone.
So I guess you came to this page to get a little more background on who I am right? Here you go… Growing up was not easy for me I had all of the ingredients to be bullied. I was a chunky kid that had a hard time breathing mixed with always getting sick and quiet almost 90% of the time (still am sort of) but that all changed after I found baseball as a fun activity to do.

I immediately said to myself I’m going to be the best and to do that I needed to learn how to be healthy and get stronger and faster. That started everything. I started reading textbooks on health and my baseball buddies started noticing a difference in me, all of a sudden I started training everyone on the team. I knew from there is found my calling in life (ikegai) . Shortly after I found a book called ACSM Guidelines and Prescriptions, it mentioned getting the hardest cert you had to get a Master of Science and 10000 hrs of clinical programming with a 42% passing rate (I was 15 yrs old) 10 years later I got it.
Around my teens to twenties, I started coaching and going to school. holding multiple jobs and internships. At one point I had 30 minutes of social life and I had managers that just won’t leaders, So I said F this there needs to be something better I can do and pass along to the future of my industry. That’s when the idea hit me I’ve been called the brain, the smartest man in the room and people loved learning from me. I let myself reframe myself and be the leader, mentor, and educator that I never had to others.
I worked hard to get where I am today retired owner/ COO of a multi-million dollar integrated health facility (still consulting for them) with dozens of licenses and certs under my name. Given hundreds of presentations/ workshops. Trained thousands of clients with diseases and cases that others have given up on. I’ve taught hundreds of allied health professionals to be the best leaders they can be for themselves and others.
My dream right now is to make a huge dent in the world and I know I can do that by being myself and following my Ikegai.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
It was not one person who taught me the skills I have today. It was a combination of individuals I met throughout my lifetime that has really given me shape. business, coaching, emotions, perspectives, abundance, there are so many i give credit to.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Invest in Bitcoin asap. just kidding. It would be to learn about financial literacy. I grew up as first generation to be born in America, and my parents didn’t know how finances work. there solution was to just work hard but nothing else

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yea no filters. I put mu foot in my mouth occationally and the way i act is 100% me

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
nothing id continue being me. id just try to have more freedom
