Deya , a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
The confidence and transformation that happens behind the scenes. Through Glam by Deya, I’ve built more than a business; I’ve built a space where people feel seen, celebrated, and beautiful in their own skin. What most people don’t see are the long hours of planning, managing a team of artists, and making sure every client’s day runs seamlessly. They don’t see the sacrifices, the lessons, or the moments of growth that came with turning my passion into my full-time career. But what fills me with pride is knowing that I’ve created a life doing what I love — empowering others, building a supportive team, and designing a lifestyle rooted in creativity, freedom, and purpose.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Deya, the founder and lead artist behind Glam by Deya. I started my business in 2019 with a simple goal — to make people feel their absolute best on their most special days. What began as a personal passion for beauty and artistry has grown into a full-service team of 10 incredibly talented makeup artists who share the same commitment to creating timeless, soft glam and elegant bridal looks.
What makes Glam by Deya unique is our approach — we focus not just on makeup, but on the entire experience. From the moment a client books with us to the final touch before they walk down the aisle, we make sure everything feels seamless, calm, and personalized.
I’m proud of how far we’ve come — building this business has changed my life. It’s given me the opportunity to empower others, create meaningful connections, and build a supportive team that uplifts one another. Right now, we’re continuing to grow, expanding our bridal services, and developing new ways to enhance the luxury experience for every client who chooses Glam by Deya.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who to be, I was simply a girl who loved making people feel beautiful. I didn’t know it would one day become my career, I just knew I loved seeing someone’s confidence light up after a small touch of makeup or a few kind words. Before titles, expectations, or routines, I was creative, curious, and full of dreams.
Somewhere along the way, life tried to shape me into what it thought I should be stable, practical, safe. But deep down, I always knew I was meant for something that lit me up inside. When I finally chose to follow my passion and build Glam by Deya, I reconnected with that version of myself, the one who led with heart, creativity, and purpose.
Now, every time I help a bride or client see their own beauty, I’m reminded that I’ve come full circle. I found my way back to the person I was always meant to be.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there was a time I almost gave up.
Building Glam by Deya wasn’t always as glamorous as it looks from the outside. In the beginning, I faced moments of doubt, fear, and exhaustion. There were times I questioned whether I was good enough, whether people would trust me, and whether I could really turn my passion into a full-time career.
There were days when bookings were slow, when I was juggling multiple jobs just to make ends meet, and when it felt like I was pouring my heart into something that wasn’t growing fast enough. But every time I thought about giving up, I reminded myself why I started the feeling of helping someone look in the mirror and truly love what they see. That feeling always pulled me back.
I learned that growth doesn’t happen in comfort; it happens when you keep going, even when no one’s watching, even when it’s hard. Today, I’m so grateful I didn’t give up because every struggle, every setback led me here: doing what I love, full-time, with a team and brand I’m proud of.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say I’m passionate, driven, and always lifting others up. They’d describe me as someone who believes deeply in what I do, who leads with heart, and who never gives up on her dreams. They know I bring calm, confidence, and positivity to every space I’m in and that I genuinely love helping people feel their best, inside and out.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope my story reminds people that it’s never too late to create the life you dream of.
I want people to remember that I built something beautiful out of passion, hard work, and heart that I turned what I loved into a life that inspired others to do the same.
I hope they say I made people feel seen, confident, and valued not just through my artistry, but through how I treated them. That I left behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, and courage.
Most of all, I hope my story tells others that when you lead with love and stay true to yourself, you can turn even the smallest dream into something extraordinary.
